Anyone try a Harrop on a stage three tune?

Just wondering if someone has tried a Harrop twin screw replacement blower on a car that already has a stage three GM tune/larger injectors. I know a new tune would be ideal, but was wondering if the GM tune would be safe enough to use running the Harrop at the stage three boost levels. They say the Harrop delivers cooler air at the same boost levels,so I am thinking it should be OK unless the levels are raised more than the stage three GM setup runs. Looking for someone who may have done this.Thanks.

What other "fast" cars have you owned other than the atom?

You will need 60's for the Harrop, so it won't work unless you run a huge pulley on it.

I thought you tuned in 310 WHP already using hptuners and a cobalt ECU? Any reason you are looking at the stage 3 tune?

Oh yeah, I was thinking of the other guy.

Mark, I bet Norm's tuner could sell you his tune.

The difference is the volume of air you are moving. TVS is not a swap out part. You will need a custom tune. FYI, the stage 1, 2, & 3 are all on the same 42.5# injectors. They are insufficient

Thanks, guys. I figured it might need a different tune, but was not sure. Bolus,I will pm Norm and see if he can give me his tuners number. 310whp is exactly what I am looking for. Got to stay ahead of the pack...

1 second faster than 120 cars wasn't good enough huh?

Norm has a return style fuel system and meth injection as well as an extra intercooler radiator. But with the same injectors the tune should work out for you.

Let's just say I am now comfortable adding more power now that the car sticks to the track very well.

If you need a tvs just let us know. I can set you up with an hptuners package as well and can tune you via email.

Mark,

Good to hear you are going TVS! Please don't run the TVS with the stage three tune, nothing good can come from that. The tuner that tuned my car could do yours by remote application or you could buy HP Tuners from Josh (Fast98). Being that you need it three times you might want to buy the software. I am actually 333 whp now that we got the exhaust figured out. I will send you a PM shortly with more information

Norm

My thoughts exactly

I thought I remembered seeing a twin screw made by rebel autoworks or something. Whatever happened with that?

Thanks,Norm. If I can get around the 300whp figure I would be happy. I'll probably do a turbo on Doc once the engine is built to handle it.

Baby steps.

btw for future reference to anyone out there wondering 42 lb/hr injectors were tested on the tvs with a 3.5" pulley. Idc's were slightly higher than the 2.9" 42lb/hr combo ( over 110% by 6k) .

Ultimately, I would like a TVS and a turbo Atom, but, I had to choose. You do not have that problem! Do look into a ported head regardless of the induction method, the exhaust side of the LSJ head is bad stock. You can find several threads on here that speak to the benefits and as to what to actually port (i.e. exhaust side). I also picked up significant hp by adding the meth system to the car. I tuned with a 50/50 mix, had I known more at the time I would have been 75% to 90% meth in the mix. The cars benefit greatly from the timing advance. I am running the Aquamist HFS-5 meth system and I love it. Now there is a HFS-6. There are other meth systems out there and I cannot speak to them, but, the Aquamist systems have allowed me to run with two ECU maps which is huge for a track car.

Norm, remember the meth mixes get extremely flamable beyond 50/50% so if you start running that high even with Tom's meth tank you'd want to empty it out after use.

Norm, did you get the cylinder head work you were planning? that's a nice HP you got running. I think I need to pony up and turn on my boost controller and get some meth running instead of the 'Safeway distilled water" to keep up braggin rights.

I am not taking the car off line until the Pacific Northwet dry season is over. When that occurs, the die grinder starts whirring
