Electric Exhaust Cut out

Just have a few questions, because I've been thinking about it. Since I don't like loud exhausts, this might be a better (and cheaper than getting a catback) choice for me. Now the question I have is would I need to put it after the second 02 sensor? Or is after the header ok? Like which location would I need to put it to not get a CEL? Also can I fail inspection/emissions for having one? Like just having one period weather it's open or not.

I'm not sure where you would put it but after the second o2 sounds right if you don't want to throw any codes. As far as inspection goes I know its illegal in some states regardless of whether or not its open, I would check with the state laws on that.

if you're in a state with emissions. then you can't do it this way lol, but. this is how i would do it. have a downpipe made for the car. instead of the cat, put the electric cutout. and tune it to run only off of the front o2 sensor. just like you would a catless downpipe. then on the cutout. have some piping welded up to from the cutout outlet to the side of the car

Hmm ok. I live in NYC btw if that helps anyone and yes we have emissions. Do you know if they were able to pass emissions with it though? Or do they change it out before inspection?

Just did some looking around... It doesn't do what I thought it did... you have to literally remove components of the exhaust system I thought it just blocked off the rest of the exhaust depending on where you put it, and the exhaust comes out from the "cut out" hmmm maybe this isn't what I'm looking for then...

they might have stopped doing it but they used take a mirror and look under the car and if they saw the cut out they failed you. I don't know if they still do that though.

I had a QTP on my old stock exhaust setup. Worked great and really sounded badass.

I don't think it did **** for performance though since I had it after the resonator right before the rear axle... useless for performance but soundwise it was cool to have, haha.
