Well, at about 12k miles it started to get harder and harder to shift into second and i kept driving it until now(13000). I just couldn't take it anymore and had to take it to the dealer, I told them exactly when it happens. They call me and tell me their " TECHNICIANS" took it for a drive and couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said i could have it replaced and not have a car for a month or deal with it so of course i still have my car. Recently no matter if the clutch is all the way down and i jam and hold the shifter in 2nd, it makes a horrible grinding noise and just wont go in. It seems to do this maybe 1 in every 10 times i shift into 2nd. It also seems 2nd is only there if i match the rpms exactly and you can feel it engage almost like clutchless shifting. I did no how to drive a stick before i got the car but i did have it to the track 1 time before 1k miles and alot more since then. Any thoughts or comments? Can this problem just be the synchros?

 

My friend has had 3 trannies in his car, going on the 4th! His redline has about 20something K miles.

 

it's the clutch, mine had the same problem. mine also has a failing slave cylinder on the clutch as well.

yea i just got a new transmission and clutch put in mine at 13 k miles thank god for my warranty

damn I have 16k on my car... still on original tranny and clutch... 20+ passes on it and countless WOT test runs... still goin strong..
kinda sounds like a synchro problem to me, but I"ve seen a few wierd things blow up in these tranny's so you never know
