I Want Some Gauges...Any Input Please

Well im tired of switching through my DIC alll the time when im driving so i would like to install some gauges that would tell me coolent temp, battery life. What would be the best way to install these gaugues and what gauge would i get? How would i install them? as for mounting... i might custom fab something into my front cup holders or just get a universial pod and fidle with that. any input would be great thanks

for where, Get the autometer pillar pods from Cobalt Addiction
I'm happy with mine,

As for what gauges, I'm not 100% if the interceptor works on the LS model
but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't. And it's a great gauge

I plan on getting Cobalt gauges for mine from Autometer probably gonna get the C2's and then I'm gonna mount them on my dash above the two AC ducts probably gonna get trans temp, boost gauge when I get turboed, coolant temp, and maybe one for my nitrous purge kit for show.

and debating on putting in In Dash matching speedo, fuel, and tach anyone think this will work?

all gauges light up blue at night

well i have side airbags so the pods will not work on the pillar. The intercepter... how does that wire up? i would like sept. gauges for each since i do not want to keep switching it unless it switchs by itsself...

Same situation and question here...

I saw someone mounted their interceptor in the trunk button pull-down?

Except for the fact that the cobalt-addiction pods do work w/ side airbags. About 88% sure.

The ones cobalt addiction sells are autometer pods. They work with side airbags becasue the airbag is above your window, not actually behind the pod.

I think the tach and speedo woulds look killer. I haven't seen a dash or instrument cluster dissassembled yet, so I don't know how feasible it is,,

But it would look awesome, I prefer the other ones over the C2's but either way autometer makes solid gauges.

"alicia is right...when we had my car apart the airbags were tucked under the headliner along the rail. when you think of it this way why would you need an airbag in the pillar....you have one on the steering wheel. if you get into a bad enough accident, if the airbag was in the pillar.....the steering wheel airbag would deploy in front of the pillar airbag thus making it completely pointless."

This is from cobalt-adiction. I think they know what there talking about.

THIS IS NOT TRUE

The airbag does have a mounting point in the A-pillar, but the bag itself is all up in the headliner. There are pics of a cobalt with the bags blown on here somewhere. The A pillars do not become projectiles.

Also, I'll snap a pic of mine next time I have my pods out.

There is no difference between having the stock pillar there guys, they both use the same mounting screw location up top.

Precisely, this is also why people shouldn't worry about a gauge hitting them in the face when the side curtains blow,,, in an accident that deploys the side curtain air bags, your face will be burried in the steering wheel long before that could happen

the second page patathss has a picture that shows air bags behind the pillar. at least an attachment. i know there is a bag behind it since ive taken the pillar off. ill snap a pic sometime today to prove it. but it looks like the pillar dosent move when deployed. would a ss/sc pod with a 2.2?

I hate when people say things that they don't know for sure are true. They do work.

On the website it says it'll work with most factory sensors. I still debating on the C2's or the original Cobalt gauges

i believe there's a "how to" install ( including wiring) the intercepter, but it was on a ss s/c, but i believe theres 1 coming out for us 2.2s
