Manual Fan Switch?

I really don’t see manual fan switches being talked about in here so I’ll ask. Anyone install one in a Cobalt? I know fan switches are really popular with f-body cars, especially for track purposes.

The Build Book mentions one, but does not tell you how to hook it up.

Someone needs to make a kit… it would be nice for the track (not that our cars run that hot).

I have an override mounted under the hood. IT is a jumper wire inline with a toggle switch. I have two of them, one for fans, one for intercooler pump.

wiring a fan switch shouldn't be that hard. F-Body's ran the extra fans because they had a severe problem with over heating. i have my fan on my IROC wired to run constantly as long as the ignition is turned on and i still ran around 190 degrees and when i turned it off it would blow coolant everywhere. granted i have about 550 hp 383 tpi in it so it creates alot more heat than a normal L98.

Its been posted a ton already. I have a crude picture in my gallery. All I did was jump the high fan relay and then jump the intercooler pump relay. I use fusible wire.

Alright here it is Jonel. It's not exactly a manual switch as it is a complete over ride. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums//showthread.php?t=23151

This can also be done with HP Tuners. That is how PsykoStevo tunes.

I have my fans set with HPT to run 100% too. But it doesn't help when the car is not running. When I go to the track I get there, flip on my fan and IC pump switch and never turn it off until I leave. The fans and pump run when the car is on or off.

All of this sounds like people are just overriding and programing with HPTuners.
Can we just hook up a toggle switch in the car and kick the fan whenever?
