Who Has Fried Their Motor/internals???

Like this thread calls for. who has fried internals or a motor. What happened like what did you see when it was pulled apart, what did you buy and roughly how much did you spend on the parts/labor.

thanks just trying to get more info on what happened to the cobalts!

Hey man i notice you have the 2.5. Hows it working for you? i was looking at some of the CA kits or INTENSE kits but was sketchy on the 2.5 because ive herd it could really do bad and blow the engine or somthin. I was maybe goin to go with the 2.6. Whtas your opinion? thanks.

here's a thought...your screen name suggest you are running NOS sooo um try not running NOS on a stock or well any motor for that matter. it does nothing but **** up motors. yea it's good for a quick bosst but after that it's all down hill FAST.

YEs I did have NOS. but I never sprayed it. Only had it all hooked up. Never got to fill the bottle or take it to the track because I got into an accident like 3 weeks after I had it all hooked up so I ripped out the lines at the accident scene cause I didnt want any BS from the police about having it. Now I have water/meth instead a much safer route and its good for the motor! woo hoo. .

I was running stock internals, 60# injectors, 2.5" intense pulley. Thats when I fried the ringlands. Dunno the A/F.

I would recomend a wideband. When temps change during the winter so does your afr. I wont make that mistake again.

Well i haven't researched busted motors much yet (still new here), but i'm noticing that a common part on most broken motors. 2.5" pulley and no a/f (datalogging for that matter) device.

what percentage of people do you think actually take the time to properly tune the motor when they put NOS on? 90%of the people watch fast and the furious and think it's just hook the lines up, fill the bottle, and push the button. take it easy chief i know how NOS works. i was just making a simple point and didn't want to go into a long explanation about how NOS works.

well as stated if you tune your motor properly to run nitrous (I/e retard the timing, fatten up the fuel mixture... ) and don't run too big a shot, you should be fine as long as you monitor things like AFR and temps... I"m installing my kit on saturday (zex 8120 w/all the goodies)
I think most people that blew up had no Wideband, or knock monitoring in the car so for all we know they could have had like 10 degrees of KR and been riding the hell outta the car.. I"ve seen two blow up here because of that. My first mod on my car was a 3" pulley and an AEM wideband.. once I started getting into the smaller pulley sizes I installed water/meth and an aeroforce... the water meth really cooled the motor down... I was running a 2.5 with 25 deg of timing on pump gas with a 50/50 meth mix and had no KR at all and kept my AFR @11.5 and never had any issues ( I was running c/a stg VI) I know I demodded but that was to fund the project to even insaner levels... not because of problems at all.
