ECM Fried

I've been a guinea pig just to let you 2.2L owners know...ummm don't be one.

ECM is fried! Car has been good, but I am REALLY thinking of returning it back to stock, and having it sold by my dealership and pick up another vehicle.

How it happened...no fcking clue! I was just going through setups(SAFC-II) then everything just stopped. Thought ECM went into limp mode so I undid the battery and all. Put it all back on...no crank, not even a signal. Hooked up OBDII reader...couldn't even connect. DIC was like POWER STEERING...key was hard to turn. -folds hands- I am SOL right now.

So looks like I'm going to try and get my dealership to sell the car for MSRP so I don't have serious negative equity and be finding me a new car that the ECM isn't so damn touchy. I'll be keeping a eye out for a SS though, but other than that. It's been nice guys.

Never had a problem....until an hour ago. I have never ripped something out that quickly. I had the damn thing out in 10 mins.

So my guess is when I was doing the sensor setup something went wrong.

Just never knew something go be so touchy.

Talked to my manager and the average trade for my car is $10700. I owe 16 something on the note. :/ Car has dropped 3K since I first bought it in value. I'm going to call my guy at Chevrolet and see what he would do for me. Maybe I can get that SS I was looking at.

Dude! I feel your pain. I had the exact problem recently and it was an ignition relay/fuse in the underhood fuse box. Check it out and keep me updated. Peace

Why don't you just get a new ECM? That seems like the real solution.

I will check tuesday. Because my ignition feels 'stuck' sometimes. The car is parked in my bay at work and locked up tight. Driving one of our loaners(plus at work free rentals).

I'll get about $9,500 trade in, $1,250 rebates, $8,500 negative, and a $20K SS. Not really possible grr.

Just going to be looking around over the weekend online since my car is a V6 and I have a heavy foot. Thinking about just taking the car down to Carmax get maybe 13K for it and take that check pay off as much of the note as I can. Get a new one and take the -3K hit again. GRR! I had a Saturn SC1 and GMC Sonoma(POS's) that put me in the hole.
