Possible Boost surge?
Possible Boost surge?
Ok I have noticed this for quite a while now on my car. Whenever I am harder on the throttle compared to normal driving and hit around 3,500 RPMs in 3rd gear, the car has a sudden jerk or kick to it. Then all of the sudden it seems to start to pull a lot harder. I have not had this happen in any other gear or RPM. Usually the power is smooth throughout the rev range on hard throttle runs.
Do you all experience the same thing, or is this something I should have looked at? Is this something that the newer PCM calibration updates fix

Not that I know of.
I'm sure the dealer will not give me the newer calibration just on this occurance. What else should I tell them is going on so that they will put the update on? From what I've heard they will do it only if the idle bounces or cetain codes are set, but then again that's hearsay.
PE tables? I'm lost there, what's that?

I think it's set at 3850 on stock tune and 3600 on staged ones.
(P)ower (E)nrichment is a fuel enrichment that enables when 3 parameters are met. RPM is one of them. PCM adjusts metered fuel to accomplish a richer burn than 14.7-1 to slightly increase power, cool pistons, and quench possible knock.
Edit: Pat posted faster than me. :P

I guess I'll take it in and see what they can do.
They won't be able to adjust it for anything that deviates from the stock tune. Find someone in your area that owns HPTuners, and they will be able to lower it for you. However it is a normal occurance on any GM calibration.
