Question Installing Injen CAI for 2007 SS-SC questions..

Hi, I just had a quick question that many of you probably know the answer to already..
Is the Injen Cold air intake that most of you have easy to install yourself (for people like me who havent installed a cai before) ? or would you recommend getting it installed by someone who is experienced? Also, will it fit the 2007 SS-SC's ? I'm sure it will but I'm just making sure before i buy it. One more question, how often do you have to change the filter on the intake? Monthly? And once the intake is installed is it easy to maintain?

install is fairly straight forward and simple, even for someone with little to no experience... if you have specific questions let us know!

I don't have a Injen but my K&N is about as snug as it can get. Its rubbing a fair amount in places. I found GM may have rerouted the brake lines which the intake does hit. The mechanics said they have quite abit of play but can only take so much punishment.

it was easy as hell dude. Just take off the left front plastic under the fender and then ur good dude. ts alot of screws and litlle plastic push pins. then the aire box has a few new scews that need to be taken out. that might be the hardest to do cause 2 screws are in really tight spots...but ull get it done. i put mine on last week in the dark with a flash light and i have never done it b4....it also comes wit directions

You're just talking about the K&N CAI right? I wonder if the Injen has the same kind of rubbing issues or not? Any of you guys know?
Also, I was curious if I do install it, will it void my warranty or not?

it will not void your warranty as long as you install it properly, which anyone can do.

Easy to do, should not have to do much with cleaning or changing the filter for a lil while depending on the area that you live in and it should not void any sort of waranties what-so ever.

You don't even have to take the wheel and fender liner out. Pop the hood, take out the two screws for the driver side headlight, gently remove the headlight(maybe a lil tough) then take the 2 screws (I believe) out of the mounting bracket for the headlight and theres your access to the intake. You will have to slide the piping in first then put the filter on after. Good luck and keep us posted if you have further questions

He would still have to take the fender lining out becuase he needs to take ou the soick air box and he wont be able 2 pull it out from that tiny hole for the head light and also the screws that hold the airbox in place are towards the bottom and the only way he can get to that is taking ont the lining and going under the car to unscrew them. or taking off the front bumper

I was just wondering if the Injen CAI will fit any of the cobalt ss/sc's from year 2005-2007. I have a 2007 SS/SC and was just curious if it will fit or not. I'm pretty sure that there is no change in the engine from 2004-2007...

and

Both links are the exact same CAI, right? And will fit in 2004-2007 ?

I have another question to add if I could. I've been thinking about a cold air kit but was concerned about water. Where I live, southeast Missouri, our streets sometimes have 2 feet of water on it. I've read that others have posted that they have not had any problems about water getting in the intake but I'm not sure if they have that deep of standing water in the streets.

If no one has problems with it and have had to run through deep water like that often, I'm goin to get me one.

Hey, I just found this...
it might help a little bit with your water situation.. maybe not 100% but better then nothing!

This one would fit the filter for the Injen you'd be getting for your SS/SC

Having an exposed filter is the only thing stopping me from buying the Injen intake, so I'm glad someone made a thread, haha!

Can you mix the airbox mod and an aftermarket intake? Like, just cut a big ass hole on the sides of the airbox (or, for that matter, any spot that'll work) and get the same kind of gain? It sounds kind of stupid, I know, but if it works, then who cares?
