Vibration at idle with AC on.

okay, i understand that it's a belt driven compressor so there HAS to be a little more vibration with the AC on, but i don't think that at 16k miles it should be noticeable.

can anyone else tell when the AC is on at idle?

it's fairly faint, but you can tell if the radio isn't on. (imagine waiting for a light at midnight with no radio) can't tell when going down the road.

bump for my lazy self.

Yeah, mine started to do it around 10k. The dealer says that's normal. :\

LOL I would hope so! I wouldn't wanna see a block come flying apart just driving down the road. I would think that'd be an OnStar moment for sure!

HAHA, onstar moment. I like that.

But I can sympathize with him. I added the trans mounts, and now at idle with the A/C on the car vibrates pretty bad. Once i'm rolling, its fine. I noticed it the other day sitting at a drive through, the car really shakes. I'm hoping it subsides a little with time, as the mounts break in. Still a small price to pay for no more wheel hop though.

LOL I will be joining that club soon enough, getting trans mounts shortly.

As for the A/C I think every car does it over time. My Cavalier developed the same thing, a distinctive shake when the A/C was on. Oh well, if it gets too unbearable with the A/C thing I may rip mine out as a double bonus, less vibration and less weight for racin'!

I figured you mean solid mounts, was just being a smartass as usual. My boyfriend has them in his SS/SC and they are NOT for me, I don't really need em anyway for anything I do, the tranny mounts and maybe an ETD would be nice, but that's all for me.

The only time I get "vibrations" from my ingalls is when the AC is on... but who needs AC?

You outta your mind? The only thing cool enough in these parts of NC in the middle of August is a Jeep with no top and no doors, that you drive INTO the ocean. Bet them black leather seats feel real nice too, i wish i had leather seats wanna trade?

Mine vibrates even without AC on. I'm taking to the dealer next week.
