Question for Sportline Guys

How's your car ride after you put Sportlines on? It's the next thing I'm wanting to do and the lowering looks really mean but my dad (who is more of a car guy than me and I value his opinion highly) said I can expect the ride to turn to ****. It may handle better, but I can expect the actual ride to take a turn for the worse. Since I routinely make 500 mile round-trip rides several times per year I'm sort of worried about it. It sounds like the Sportlines are better than Tenzo-R's in offering a smooth ride, though.

Opinions and experience would be appreciated.

I was actually suprised at how comfortable the ride is, especially here in Michigan with the crappy roads. It is harsh when you hit a large bump or hole, but as far as the typical road, it rided the same if not better than stock. When I compare to the trucks that I have lowered in the past, I would take this 10X over them.

X2!! The highway roads are nice but if you lift on bumpy roads or have potholes. It can be a bumpy ride. The cornering is nice though. It took some time to get used to them but I love them. The suspension is really tight. I am more leary of bumps and potholes now.

get aftermarket struts and you wont have to worry about the extra bounce

You just have to be careful going in/out of some driveways and watch for potholes. I lowered my car 2 weeks ago and I LOVE IT. The look is much more sleek. I think you will be happy.

I actually had the guy that works at the garage I regularly use tell me that if I lowered it too much he wouldn't be able to get it on the lift. I need about 4" if clearance to make it work.

I put sportlines on a '96 VW GTI back in the day, and the handling was awesome, but the ride did turn to crap, which is why I held off on putting them on this car.

I've driven 2 different Cobalts (a 2.0 and 2.4) with Sportlines and the handling was awesome like the GTI, but the ride was also good. Maybe Eibach has refined their design over the past few years, but I plan on putting them on my car real soon since I was impressed on how well it kept the stock comfort level.

The rear takes literally minutes. The front needs a spring compressor and preferably an impact, but it takes a bit longer than the rear.
