SS/SC Injectors

I noticed alot of ppl recommending swapping out the stock injectors on 2.4ls and swapping them with the SS/SC injectors. What kind of gains are we looking at by doing this?

The injectors won't give you gains neccessarily; installing the SS/SC injectors will help keep your IDC in a good range if you have full bolt-ons and a tune. Other wise your duty cycle may be too high without the upgrade.

Not true, I have full bolt on's and my IDC's are fine. I had to tweak the tune but it brought the duty cycle down to 81% at the top of third gear. The injectors will not hurt anything, but you do not need them.
Just get a tune and watch them fall

i have them aswell. there fine afrs can still be adjusted with a good dyno tune. you need hpt. a fuel line bleeder or some sort of tube to drain the pressure off the fuel rail. i think a small set of sockets and pliers some oil for lubin the o rings on the new injectors. the duty cycles will be changed in hpt.

you midaswell up the speedo to 145. the a good tune i can send you my tune file which is a physcostevo file and its for manual trans. its setup for the ss sc injectors header o2 sensor shut off which you can turn back on. speedo to 145 and rev limeter to 7k. if you have any questions pm me i got all the stuff and info if needed.

Even if I wanted to run that tune, I couldnt. Steve is useing 2.1.18 I am useing the Beta I cant see his tune. Plus as I just said I dont need injectors my IDC's are only at 81%

I'll admit, stock the IDC's are really high but after adjusting the tune, there really is no need for them. Until you really get into engine or F/I. And my tune is set for my car, I really dont want a tune from across the contry on a differnt car.

True, but make sure you check out all the values. make sure teh tables for the numbers in the Inj vs flowrate are right. And you will still have eto dail in the tune even after it has been loaded on the car to nail down the MAF.

seems like everyone is jumping on the injector swap band wagon. i too ordered the 2.2L cavi harness and bought redline24's injectors. < 1500 miles he said. after a custom vector tune, i am hoping to see good gains too.

REDFOCZ is pretty much on the money here.

You can count on ZERO gains from the injector swap! Why?

The factory tunes go pig rich on a hard pull, approaching 10:1. With that the IDCs will get high.

The "fix"? Not bigger injectors! For best power on a N/A engine you want the PE AFR to be in the 12.5 - 13.0 range. AFRs around 10 will lose power! Tune the engine to get the PE AFRs in the proper range and two things will happen: 1. More power! 2. IDCs will be fine, as REDFOCZ has found.
