Unlimited boost?? Need help
Unlimited boost?? Need help
I got a strange problem since yesterday. My car boost over 12.5 psi (it is stock).
If I push it, I can reach 15 to 17 psi easily.
Also, on neutral, if I hit the pedal to the floor, it goes in boost, and it is not supposed to.
I also hear a noise coming from the front, like if a vacuum or presssure lost from something disconnected.
I looked to see if a vacuum hose could be disconnected, but I haven't found anything.
I need you help!

Definately sounds like a clogged cat, that is where i would start at least because it will be the least expensive thing to fix. Get a new DP and cat and put it in and see if that fixes it. If not it is time to pull the valve cover off and check your rockers and valves for damage. In the mean time I would be really easy on the car or you will cause more damage or even blow it up.
Can I drive it around smoothly until monday? Or I could damage something?
If it would be a valve, I would hear a clicking noise??

might not be the cat, I've had first hand experience with car's doing the same thing, ended up being a broken rocker (cam follower or whatever you want to call it) Darksun's car was doing that for a long time, swapped 3 cats, hollowed one out, changed to an XTC DP, still was diong, was boosting over 20 on a 3" pulley. Finally the car let go after a few months, ended up 4 exhaust valves weren't opening anymore and it took out the exhaust cam in the process.
Could also be the cat too though. try and find someone with a stock DP for sale, if not, just hollow the ****** out and see what that does. If you still are over boostin after that, it's probably and exhaust valve issue.
