Warranty question - Whats your input?
I have a friend who is picking up a cobalt and was looking for my advice.
He is getting an SS SC and he is picking it up on a 4 year lease.
He is covered bumper to bumper for 3 years or 60k.
But his lease his 4 years and past the 3 year mark he is only covered on major powertrain which does NOT include the supercharger.
Without the warranty he will pay $390 per month. With the warranty he will pay $420 a month so this obviously makes a really big difference.
My only concern for him is the supercharger having a problem in the 4th year.
What would you guys suggest? Bare in mind he is trying to be cost efficient but doesn't wanna get raped later on for making a mistake.

I didn't get the extended warrenty and if the supercharger goes after the 3 year mark just a perfect timing to swap out for a whipple or a turbo. Seriously, depends on what he wants to do to the car. That's and estimated $1440 extra that could go to either 1 - his sense of security or 2 - mods!
Lease? your friend enjoys wasting money then huh?
Why would you be so worried about the supercharger? If left with the stock pulley, and maintained properly (blower oil changed at the proper interval) than the blower will likely last just as long as the engine. If he's modding it, well, modding a leased car is retarded anyhow, so that shouldn't be an issue.

The oil in the blower can not be changed and does not need to be. its there for the life of the blower.
Really? All the eaton blowers I have every seen had a plug that you could change the oil... granted I'm not so much of a supercharger guy but i know i've seen and heard about people changing the oil in the supercharger every 30K miles or so. My bad.
