In feb I will be buying my catback exhaust and i want one that has a 2.5 inch or bigger pipe diameter but not too big for n/a, im hoping that by this summer i should be putting on a turbo kit but i would really like an exhasut before that that will work well for both applications, and i understand that a smaller than 3 inch pipe is not gonna be the best for a turbo car but im only gonna be boosting conservatively for a long time, thanks for the help in advance.

hahn recoemnds to stay with 2 1/4" up to 350 hp range
2 1/2" is plenty big enough for a street driven turbo

what about 2.5 on a n/a ss until the turbo kit is on? will it be safe, power loss? what do you think? it might be on there before the turbo for like a year

who is going to tune this car? why even throw an exhaust on until the turbo is one? just wondering?

well adding an exhaust doesnt mandate tuning the car, of course you could pull out some more horses with tuning but youll still gain power without tuning. now, when the turbo kits come out im hoping to get the garrett one then that will be fully tuned im planning on spending about $1000 for install and tuning

The Solstice 2.4L VVT ECOTEC has 2.5" exhaust tubing by default. I believe it along with the intake are part of how the engine has more stock power then the other 2.4L VVT based cars. So from that alone I'm pretty sure moving to a 2.5" system should more then liekly be beneficial for the stock engine. I also bet the Turbocharged ECOTEC engine coming out next year will be running the same size piping as well.

No. I completely understand that. But just becasue I understand what someone's saying I don't post just saying: "Yes.". I only post if I can supply information to the topic, or a valid response. Maybw what I was getting at is to only post if you're going to supply information or a response.
Again, I'm not trying to be confrentational. It's just that I got a warning on one of my other forums for responding like that. That's all.
