View Full Version : Help ASAP with LS4 TB install weird noise
Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 02:26 PM OK so in putting on a LS4 TB everything is on and theres this queefing sound, or like when your farting so hard for that little bit of air and it just makes a high pitched sound. It wont go away unless you take the intake pipe off the TB , then for a second it goes away then the car sputters because its not getting a MAF reading and shuts off
We are using the Rebel Adapter plate and I changed the value in HP tuners that needed to be changed to 4500, is this not correct or is it different for a saturn redline?
Help needed asap
Co|3aLt $$ 02-08-2008, 02:28 PM it's a throttle body queef. rofl check all your connections? everything tight? everything sealed right etc?
Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 02:29 PM yea its all good, nothing lose or gaps or anything like that, im baffled
could the TB be bad
Edubs 02-08-2008, 02:29 PM
I can't stop laughing about your description. If I were you, I would check the coupler you are using for cracks or holes. Sounds like you've got a leak. How does it run when it's queefing? HA HA HA
Seriously though, does it spudder, stall, rough idle, anything like that?
Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 02:32 PM Its a brand new coupler it does it with both of them
it runs rough, but is idling better with the new coupler we just got, but the noise is more constant
all i changed was the input area or scaler whatever its called that was 2895 and changed it to 4500 as i have seen in previous posts, no MAF or VE changes
Edubs 02-08-2008, 02:34 PM I think that is right, and I definately don't think that is your problem. You can't locate the origin of the queefing? Don't feel any vaccuum coming from anywhere around the connections?
lsjwannabe 02-08-2008, 02:35 PM maybe the adaptor is bad
Edubs 02-08-2008, 02:36 PM Did you reinstall the o-ring gasket when you installed the TB?
Co|3aLt $$ 02-08-2008, 02:37 PM ^^^ my thoughts precisely.
memphisr24 02-08-2008, 02:39 PM maybe you need a new gasket?? Something sounds like it's not sealing properly or something
Co|3aLt $$ 02-08-2008, 02:40 PM take it to the dealership and tell them you hear a queef coming from under the hood.
Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 02:41 PM yea both the orange gasket and the one thats on the rebel plate have been used
Co|3aLt $$ 02-08-2008, 02:41 PM but what is their condition like? are they in good or are they obviously worn?
Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 02:48 PM good
the part number is 12568580
Co|3aLt $$ 02-08-2008, 02:50 PM how does the TB look? everything look correct? any imperfections?
Never saw an LS4 throttle body installed on an LNF before. ;)
Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 02:53 PM The TB is used, it looks ok, I cant see anything wrong, not sure if you can see if there is anything wrong is there something that i should be looking for
what does an LNF have to do with anything , sorry my fingers are cold

Rodimus_Prime 02-08-2008, 05:29 PM well i kept the orange gasket on the supercharger and then put on the plate to match what the supercharger outlet looks like with the notch thing at the bottom and the black gasket on top of it facing the new throttle body
