New clutch suggestions...

Thinking about getting a new clutch, flywheel etc. What do you guys recommend? I'm just curious what's out there and what would be a good one. I was looking at Exedy and saw a few different ones.

If you drive a SS/SC. I would suggest a Exedy Clutch and flywheel package. Awesome mod.

What's the difference between the single plate clutch and the multi-plate clutch?

a single plate clutch has one disk, a multi-plate would have 2 or more disks. a multi disk clutch is used when you make a lot of torque and need a clutch thats still drivable.

for a cobalt, a multi plate clutch isnt needed, the single disk clutches out are more than up to the task of holding the power we can put through our transmission.

Cool, thanks for the explanation. I'll prolly end up going with Exedy. There is a Bully clutch on ebay starting at $100. How are those?

Just get the Exedy one and be done. Far superior to all other clutches for our cars. Trust me as I have been through all the Clutchmasters **** and finally ended up with the Exedy Hypersingle kit. It is nothing short of badass! Just be sure to get a new slave cylinder while you're at it! If you don't replace it, it will fail on you!

Whats everyones opinion on the Exedy OEM replacement clutch with my stage 2 and 2.9 pulley mods? I know it doesn't have everything the higher dollar clutches have, but thats about all I can afford at this time. I heard its actually better and holds up better than the factory clutch.

isnt the labor to change an issue. even if it is better, it costs almost the same to put in the best, so save up if your planing to expand your mod list.

Well if he would have just said Exedy Stage 3 the first time then I wouldnt have had to search all over the damn place.

Nice...not only will your blower sound like a rock tumbler but now your clutch will too.
