You guys tell me!!!

What should i be prepared for this coming 2008 Drag year!!!

This will be my first time ever taking the cobalt to the drags(since every other time i was too young). Now i am old enough to race her at the strip. Im taking her to Englishtown NJ. I heard at Englishtown you need to put down A time down that you think you will run. Well idk what i will run? I'm totally new to the whole track thing, but im a pretty good driver with this car. The car has traction mods and has a brand new clutch heading in soon. I got 2.6, 60's and alot others. What should i put down 14's? just to be safe? or 13's?

i think the only reason they ask that is because if it is a 10 sec car you need a chute and wheelie bars or something like that (at least at englishtown)

GL at the track! Hope you do well!

Where are all the nay-sayers that will tell him he probably won't be running less than a 15 since it's his first trip?

He'll wheelhop it so bad on the first pass down the track that he'll have to back out of it and end up running a 15.5@100mph... There, happy?

But tell them you'll run a 13.5@105mph or so and be prepared to wear a helmet.

What you're going to be doing is called E.T. Bracket racing. The number you're suppose to pick is the number that you think the car will run. If you "DIAL IN" at a 13.6 and run a 13.65, that's a good run. If you dial in at at 13.5 and run 13.4, it's called breaking out and you will be disqualified. Bring a helmet regardless and make sure it is SFI or Snell approved. DOT helmets are not accepted I believe.

I doubt you break 13's man. Your first time ever at the track. You'll have a good time, but it'll take a lot of seat time to figure out racing the cobalt at the track and figuring out the track itself. GOOD LUCK! Prove me wrong tho please and go DEEP into the 13's!

Also, please tell me you have cooling mods with a 2.6" pulley.

I don't know about Englishtown, but if you run bracket racing at my track you get 2 time trials to figure out what you will run the 1/4 in. If you get that opportunity I'd ake advantage of it.
