Paint Situation(pics)
Over the past year, my car has been slowly losing paint on the roof on the driver's side. Here are a couple pics:

Is this something that touch up will take care of, or is this going to require going to a body shop.

Yeah that's not the factory paint. Body shop is the only way you'll get that fixed.
Time to call insurance, or if you had it repaired from an accident, take it back and have it fixed under warranty.

I bought this car 5 years ago and up until a year ago the paint started coming off, so one of the previous owners must have been in an accident and had it repainted.
What would cause something like this? Was it not sprayed right or what?

Anybody know about how much I'm looking at to get that side of the roof done? The rest of the car is fine. Is there anything I can do to keep it from getting worse until I get the money to get it fixed?

Nope. Dealer does it right and if they don't they have to do it all over again. Good luck getting some ma and pop shop to stand by their work. Just speaking from experience.

I don't care if it looks factory perfect. I mean, come on, it's black. I'm sure most body shops aren't going to make it look like an eyesore from 5 feet away. Any reputable body shop will make it look just as good as the dealer. There's also nothing stopping a dealer from not standing by their work just as your typical body shop would given the fact that dealerships are privately owned. They can tell you to take a hike just as easy as a body shop can. I'm not going to pay $2000 for a small section of my car to be repainted. It just wouldn't be worth it. It's a used daily driver and that's what I bought it for.
