08 Turbo fit 07-05 balts?

Maybe too early to ask this question, but do you think a GM vendor will offer the turbo setup to fit the past cobalts, Like crate engine depot? Or are things too different to match up?

EDIT: Should have said fit the SS/SC

The LNF is a Direct Injection engine while the current 2L is not. I imagine the engine will fit perfectly but you'll need to run new fuel lines and run a new tank and pump.

I don't see what that has to do with mounting the turbo to the engine unless you were going to use the LNF intake manifold as well.

I'm not totally sure on the bolt pattern of the new heads though. Since they have direct injection the head has to be different. Hard to say if they changed the bolt pattern or not.

So anyone at a gm parts counter wanna match up the exhaust manifold gaskets for us and see if they're the same?

I know the LNF has VVT in its head, and the turbo should mount up but will need some work to it like said earlier. But as for just a quick bolt on...I doubt it.

Quick explaination of the whole direct injection thing?

But yeah, kind of too early to be thinking about that. Let them damn thing come out first.

Why would you want to swap in the whole motor? Will the LNF bolt to the trans?

You could get just as much power from building your LSJ for much easier.

Okay, the direct gasoline injection thing still bewilders me. It looks like its using fuel injectors like we do, and is doing the same exact thing. WHats the all the joy jumping about DI?

Direct injection sprays directly into the cylander instead of the manifold like on the LSJ (multiport injection). Direct injection gives you more power from less gasoline. That isthesimplist way to explain it.
