Is there paint over the forged alluimium rims..? I'm getting my rally yellow ss rims blacked out tomor!! Need info quick! Thanks!

 

Yes GM has a special color code for it also .. , For powder coating they should be stripped of and sand blasted or soda blasted otherwise its just gunna chip like a mother..

 

That's man! I thought they had a coat over them. Just needed to be forsure. Thanks for the advice. I know bout all that. Should I go with a thin circle of yellow around the rim? What do yall think??

 

Do what you think will look the best, since you will be looking at it more than everyone else.

yeah, they paint them. And any REPUTABLE powdercoating shop/person would KNOW 110% that they need to be soda/sand blasted before powdercoated.

dude.. I have an 09 Rally yellow SS/TC and I wanted to powder coat the stock rims a gloss black.

Are you doing a Matte(dull) or Gloss finish? and are your rims stock

since we are on the topic of painted rims... does anyone have a pic of a black cobalt with gold or bronze rims? I am thinking about painting the stockers.

Check out Gestapo007's rims. I trolled his thread to **** with him, but he actually got a decent paint job on his rims.
