09 SS/TC idles hard with AC on

is this normal?

when i have the AC on and im around 900rpms at a redlight the car vibrates a little. if i just lightly push on the gas and get to 1,100 rpms its fine

if i turn the AC off at idle its fine

Yeah seems to be the norm. Mine does it too. It almost seems hit or miss because I know some dont notice it and some do.

It's a 4 cylinder engine. They do that.

Mine did it stock, stage II, tuned, etc.

loosen the 3 side passenger mount bolts by 1 turn each. Then re-tighten to 45lbs. may help.

solid motor mounts here.... I HATE my AC. Vibrations? Horrible. Not a "little vibs". Dash, steering wheel, everything shaking. Huge noticable driving difference. Sucks.

It's normal. You've got a large load on the engine when it's not making very much power at all at idle. Basically, it's slightly "lugging" the engine. It's normal though, so nothing wrong with it.

You may notice something similar when both of the cooling fans for the radiator turn. Once again, an engine load when the RPMs are low.
