2009 Cobalt SS/TC High HP Build Advice
2009 Cobalt SS/TC High HP Build Advice
Hi, I'm looking into purchasing a 2009 cobalt ss/tc, I want to make this a mid hp build about 450hp range. I wanted to buy the ZZP Racing bottom end and Ported head & Cams. I understand that the TC model of the car came with the LNF and F23 combination but I wanted to swap the Performance AutoWerks Stage 2 F35 Transmission, which I believe is rated for 500hp and seems to be the only viable option at this point in time for the application. The ZZP bottom end comes with an abundance of Flywheel options one of them being a Fidanza 2.0 LSJ/LNF Flywheel. I really wanted to know what else needs to be considered for the transmission swap, mainly pertaining to the Drivetrain, Thank you in advance for your time.
B3 designs for Jason, he is the only one I know of that braces and builds them the way he does. But he has a waiting list.
Also you don't need to go with a ported head and cams unless you want to, to get 450whp or around 490 crank hp. You can do that on a gen 3 short block filled with good internals, opel injectors, ZZP's fuel pump running e47 and a s257 turbo or 7163 ZZP efr. It can also be had with a 6758 on e47 with a good tuner. If you want to achieve 500whp then the head and cams make it easier.

If I were you, I would call ZZP and ask for Ryan D. Tell him Big Sexy Kev sent you. No joke. Call Monday and say that. He will tell you anything and everything you need to know
