being picked on. need help.
Hey guys and gals.
My cars warranty is about up and im ready to add some power. On my way to work im constantly picked on by some d-bag in a 5.0 and a dude in a 12+ SS Camaro. The 5.0 just revs @ me but won't ever give me a run. The Camaro guy is pretty cool we've ran a few times 50ish to 120 or so. I normally take the jump and hold him off til about 100 or so then he pulls me in and is past me by 110-120.
Well im sick of it. Im ready to put some lengths on him. SO.........
Where do I start? So far all I have is a drop in K&N filter. Ive looked up the GM tune but I dont think its worth the $. So should I order just the 3 bar map sensors($150) and add intake and charge piping and get say HP or Trifecta tune or should I start with the GM Tune ($500 + dealer install) and build off that?
Which will give me the best results for the cash? Im not wanting a full on 35psi - 500hp monster im just looking for a good sporty, reliable base so I can continue to daily drive it but still drag some ass too.
Thanks for any help.

You can make some good gains and will probably hang well with them, but in the end remember theres always gonna be someone faster just man up and accept it, tell them to quit being dicks and pick on someone their own size
Be cheep like me
Buy the 3 bar sensors from GM (i paid $44CDN)
Go to a wreckers and grab some connectors (think mine were on a regal)
Find someone with hptuners and grab the the gms1 tune or get someone here to help you with a tune.
'stage 1' cost me under $250CDN if I remember right.

It's said with a stage 1 upgrade you can run high to mids 13s in a 1/4 mile with a good start. I think the Camaro ss does that as well so you'll give him a run for his money. He won't be expecting it. Also get an upgraded intake tube if you're not looking to spend 200-300 dollars on an intake. I also have a forge bpv. Some say it doesn't make a difference in power but I feel like it makes a good difference in turbo spool. That's just me. But with just a stage 1 upgrade and nothing else, you'll gain 60lbs of torque and about 15 more hp than stock. I'm hitting 21psi on my boost gauge. I feel like it's a respectable (and covered by warranty) but yeah. I beat a focus st the other day. I wasn't expecting to race but her tires chirped and I started after her and beat her. She was shifting to third when I was still in the top of 2nd and that's when I started to pull on him. When I went into third I kept pulling and I knew she was done for. So I ended the race there.
Seriously though, GM Stage 1 is your best bet and will give both of those cars a run for their money. I wouldn't go much further than that if you want the car to last while beating on it every day lol
Best advice i could give you is do a safe reliable tune, and nothing else. If you want to go fast, go build a racecar, and leave your daily driver alone. Wish i would have done this myself.
Thanks for the help guys I'm broke from mods for my bike. but I'm gonna start with the sensors, charge piping and the down pipe.
Should I go HP or Trifecta? Which is easiest to install for a complete novice? is there a video or how to on the install/flash?

Hptuners. There is no "install"
It uses the stock ecu and is 100% custom so you have to have someone who knows what theyre doing to tune it. This is the best way.
Trifecta is like an email tune where you rent a cable and they send you tunes to upload.
