He also showed me the K04-GT2860's and while in the pictures he posts shows the size difference, in person you can really see the difference clearly between the K04 cartridge, the 2860 cartridge and the 2871.

He uses real Garrett parts, I seen Garrett parts boxes all over the place. Opened and unopened.

The man don't just make turbochargers for other cars, he uses them on his vehicles and he drag races. I saw (2) Mazda 3 GTX's (turbo awd), a Syclone, Typhoon, DSM, RX-7 and a car he is sticking a TT 2JZE supra engine into.

Here are some pictures of everything you get/need with the K04-GT2871 and mine has the extended tip welded on for the UICP.

Click to enlrage By the way the turbos are blasted to give it the silverish look, not painted.

Damn that looks sexy!! everytime i look at this thread i lean more toward doing this turbo swap instead of a complete new turbo set up.

Thats prolly the spring pressure, you won't be able to go lower then that without some trickery.

What I mean is inside that can is a spring, it has a set pressure. You can't go lower then the spring pressure, so its more important to know that really.

DDM stated that they also worked on the 2860 BNR turbo. They said that its not worth the cost, especially if they only got 320whp on it. For a little more in price, they recommend 2871 BNR turbo which netted 370whp.

Id really like to see around 400hp on the 2871 is this unlikely even if im running e85/91 mix? If someone can get in the 400hp range ill deff be getting this kit.

Im also interested on where to get the blow off flange welded? Im looking at the new synapse engineering blow offs that work as a bpv too.

Depends on the goals for your car. Not all of us have the goal for all out power.
In my case, I want to be making 350-370 reliably and efficiently. We can achieve that with meth and E, pushing the stock turbo to its limits. Neither of I quite like much.
The 2860 falls into place perfectly for my goal. I maintain quicker spool than the 2871 and efficiency and power where I want. Keeping the cars driving characteristics almost like stock all the while making a good amount of more useable power

Good luck with your write-up and planning HHRSouth! Good luck to ya also with the turbo install whenever you are able to start it

well, you can't ask anything anymore from a 2860 turbo. Even at the garrett website, its power range is 250-360hp. Getting 320whp, is very realistic on that turbo.....

Hoping to get the IC fitup squared away this weekend, have the coldside pipe on and the DP built and on the weekend after that, then, if Dub has the last weekend of Feb open, finally get the 2860 on and tuned.

Here's a pic of the turbo I bought for a core exchange with the crack. Is this where they all supposedly crack?
