Yeah I think stage 1 and 2 would have no problems , I really want 450 WHP or close to it at an elevation of 6k feet .. I know I am dreaming LOL but we will see man ..

Just emailed him to see if we can get an estimate on when he will need the cores.

Then the 2871 is your only option, even that may be too small at that elevation and HP goal.

Just sent an e-mail, so I may now be on the list. If I do this, I'll get the new charge pipes, BOV, gt2871, mix a 50/50 for e85, and get retuned. I don't have the money for a new clutch right now, but what would you all suggest for a new clutch? Spec 3+? 4?

So what BOV do you all suggest? Tial Q? What should it be rated at for PSI?

So, why is it that you need a BOV but not a MAF relocation? Are you going to recirc the BOV? Is it not going to vent to atmosphere?

I want to get the stage 1 but I am thinking I may go with the stage 3 and do a maf relocation and Tial BOV. Or I may actually do a 1G DSM set-up I have had really good luck using those in the past. They are great BOVs. but they start to leak around 16psi. Very small BTW but there is a mod to get them to hold 30 no problem.

1G BOV 101 / Mods - DSM Forums

DDG- Talon BOV mod for HIGH BOOST

1g DSM BOV Leak Stop Kit - Dejon Tool Install - DSM Forums

They are very reliable BOVs

has anyone thought about modding the stock manifold porting out the center divider and moving it up so it has less of a twin scroll setup.. i know this wouldn't be ideal however it might be something that would help for bigger turbos on the stock manifold just having the air converge slightly before the turbo might help velocity

twin scroll is better all around, when you get into big turbos on 4 cylinders you'll see that all of the fast guys have twin scroll with twin wastegates.

This is true of all turbos that twin scroll is better as far as spool is concerned.

However when you mate a non twin scroll turbo to a twin scroll manifold you run into issues with spool. The two technologies are not really interchangeable. Thats why when EVO guys swap the turbo they usually go with a different manifold. They are twin scroll and run into the same problems we do with the non twin scroll swap. I'm not sure the physics behind why but I think it has something to do with the gases converging before entering the hot side turbo housing and causing turbulence before it gets to the turbine.

Update!

Thanks for everyone's patience on the completion of our LNF turbocharger upgrade line up.

We have the machining fixture made and we ran the batch of turbine (exhaust) housings today. They will need some mill work to be completed. I am very pleased with the outcome of the machine work.

I have 4 customer cores and 7 of my turbocharger cores that are getting worked up. The release date will be in 2-3 weeks tops.

Call me if you have any questions...
All these people who think it isn't going to spool and isn't going to work well are way out of touch.... It is going to work just as expected. BTF invested thousands in that 4 axis cnc mill with poor results... this guy has access to more machine shops than most of you could call on the phone in one day.

Ill have it in my car in about 1 month

Will you post a how to with plenty of pics on how to swap out the turbo? I know you mentioned this before but it would be amazingly helpful, and save me lots of money too!

I definitely will. My plan is to go put half a tank of e85 in my car. Drive home. Swap the turbo. Put in the BOV. ReTune. Go fastfastfast :-)

Just got an update:

Hello all.

Just wanted to inform you guys that the turbine housings are done and the stage 1 compressor housings are done as well. I have 4 of the 9 cores on order. The other 5 are for on the shelf for core exchange program. Rotating assembly parts will be here by Friday November 12th. Once the assemblies come in we will be ready for production.

The inner water line will be reconfigured in the mean time.

If you want to put your name on one of the turbochargers I am preparing, just email me. I don't except payments until it is ready to ship.

So far so good
