boost leak???

boost leak???

i was driving today and did a no lift shift and it seemed before i shifted it sounded like a bunch off air just came out of somewhere alot louder then the bypass valve has anybody ever heard hti sbeffore??

no it didnt it made this noise a couple of itmes before i wonder hwta it could be do you think it can be a possible leak?

ummmm, not 100% sure, but a boost leak= major failure...correct? Ok then.. if you had a legit boost leak, wouldn't the Check Engine Light flash or come on? I mean. its hard to not get a CEL once in a while over minor ****..... so if you had a legit boost leak, pretty sure u would get a CEL or something.

What did the car feel like? you only described what you heard....did you loose power . I mean you obviously were at WOT if u were performing a no lift shift?

Did you shift fast enough for a No lift shift or whatever? Just asking.

i shifted at bout 5700 RPM it did seem to lose a tiny bit of power but only for that split second it sounded like a bunch of air released (not the bypass) dnt know what it was

it happens all the time. it depends on when you shift and how much pressure the turbo builds up. the last time i did that the ecu threw a code til the pressure went away. i guess its the wideband that detunes the cars performance
