Brembo brake misery
Brembo brake misery
Umm, been at this all day. 11 year old brembo brakes. Last and final attempt was drilling them out which was a fail because I couldn't keep a perfect line out the back side so the molten lava old back piece is in the way of the new hole.😪
That said, I refuse to waste any more time on this and even my Dremel is a pos had it worked right I could've maybe had success.
So, with one side off completely but other front side untouched, and caliper pistons bare , can I limp about until new brembos come in?

Thanks. Really, one can save alot of time if, after trying to punch them out they won't then machine drill them. After struggle with cutting pins off I can say the sticking spot of these are the back side of caliper casing. No way one can hand drill them out head on against a hardened metal pin and think the new hole will be a match. Note that you would need to also drill a wider chamfer for the one end of replacement pin set too.
I opted for new calipers.I did not like what I saw in which one of the 4 piston heads would not press back along with deteriorated rubbers over the caliper pistons. I'll attach a pic later. 😪😎
