A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor replacement
Anyone done this before? Its easy to get to and appears to be easy to change, but what I dont know is if GM designed it to be changeable without discharging the system.
Most newer Chyslers/Dodge/Jeep and Fords can be done without discharging (small ball valve inside).
And yes, I know the sensor is bad. My charge piping sheared the electrical connector clean off when it popped off last time.

LOL glad you asked bro I clicked this right away , I broke mine trying to get Crazy Steves POS IC to fit.. a while back but it was still late winter so A/C was not big deal...
I busted it right off , at the time I thought I was going to have to replace the entire line and the sensor , thought I was looking at 300 bucks
Just pop it out it has that little release valve so it wont let any refrigerant out .
I went to GM to get a price they wanted 95 Bucks for one

N0. 11 Pressure switch ...... Just pop it back in and plug it in
You CAN still run the AC but it doesn't know how to cycle so you can burn up the condenser/compressor just click the AC button on and off cycle it yourself only run it while driving .
dealer is like 100 + a lot of times gmpartscheap is 56 bucks

Thanks PrincessTurbo! I was hoping I woudn't have to evacuate the system so thats good news..
SSlowbalt - you actually cant run the A/C without this switch. Its a 3 wire high/low pressure sensor that cuts the compressor off if it drops below 30 something psi, and off above 420 something psi. Its a 3 wire reference voltage sensor (5v in, Ground, variable output) so you cant just jump it. Without this input the computer wont turn on the A/C at all.
