you should be able to google that code if someone doesn't have it.

finding out what the code is will be your first step.

Depending on how you installed your BOV regarding your vacuum line, that can cause the light to come on. I know when I installed it on my car, I plugged up where the old BPV was connected on the black electric controller and connected the BOV to the vacuum line of the intake manifold. That caused my CEL to come on, so I simply connected the vacuum line from the BPV directly to the BOV. CEL never came on again. I do have the hahn delete plate on my ride. You can see the pictures of install on my gallery. Hope that works.

Are you having any problems with the BOV? I read in a few threads that there were some problems if you don't recirculate the BOV back into the intake. Also, how exactly does the HKS BOV attach to the flange that Dejon puts on, and do you have to make any adjustments to the BOV once installed? Thanks for any info!

P2261: turbo/super charger bypass valve - mechanical. Im running Synpase's BOV and have the vacuum line from my old bypass valve going to it. i put hahns block off plate on the bypass valve, bald turbo freak makes a cheaper block off plate and i believe secret services has one too.

Yes you need to keep the stock bpv closed with a delete plate, but that doesn't mean you won't have any driveability problems since you're venting metered air.
Also do some research let alone try to understand what you're actually doing before you do it so you don't have problems like these. I swear this topic needs a how-to pronto.

Not sure how a car can lose power when you properly install a bov.

No problems as of a month after install. The HKS BOV with the instructions to install the BOV to the flange. No adjustments need to be on the HKS BOV besides installing the vacuum source to it. Other BOVs will need adjusting. i.e. greddy rs.
