Anyone here order their car before march 13? My dealer finally called me back today, and they are asking me what i know as to why the cars haven't delivered.

you probably had first batch.. which werent delivered due to a problem with vin numbers

 

i think it is an internal sequence number for the factory then it turns into the vin, that is what i am told

i ordered mine on the 13th got built may 9th. Event code 4B00 just like everyone else. mine got built so late because i changed my paint color.

 

They let you change something? when i told them (3 days after i ordered it) that i wanted the high mount spoiler instead, they said there was nothing i can do... the guys at my dealership are apparently idiots... can't wait to get on the phone with them... i want my LSD!

 

well you can change your order you just run the risk of losing your production spot, which in my case i did, like i said i ordered mine march 13th had an original build date of 4/8 then after i changed it, it went to may 7th so you run the risk like i did.

 

Dealers that dont know what they are doing are dangerous to us.

 

Yea, i wanna keep my spot, escpecially if the whole thing about ppl that didn't have their orders in early are gonna be cancelled... i'll be pissed, lol. Hah, don't know what they are doing... when i emailed inquiring about this car, the "Internet sales maanger" told me there is no such thing... when i told him that you can build it online his reply was "oh yes, i see that here. we don't have any and won't be getting any." I just don't think he wanted the business, oh well for him... so i went and talked to somebody else there, told them i thought this guy was an idiot, and the guy actually still says there is no Cobalt SS/TC... i don't think he even know what company he works for..

 

When did you order yours again?

 

May 5th... they said the order when through, i have an order number and it says my event code is 1100, which just means they said "Okay" to the order, i just hope they continue to build it...

 

Hope that they do. There was another post where some orders were cancelled due to the 09's being made soon.

 

Yea, well if they cancelled my order, and didn't let me know, and are waiting for me to call them... i'm gonna be kinda angry..

 

My manager at the car dealer just got off phone with ohio plant aledgedly 300 cars just got released and are shipping not by order date though take it or not from a car salesman.

 

This is probably true, i called dealer business center yesterday and they said cars would be released as early as today and into next week.

 

as soon as you find out about the 09's plllease let me know i would really appreciate it.

I don't think im gonna risk an '08 the guy at my dealership said if i really wanted one that bad he'd search in a 100 mile radius once the 08's come to dealers for the one that closest matches what I ordered. But I told him I'd rather have an '09. I just wanna know at least when they're gonna start those onse.

 

Well i heard orders start on monday at they are starting to produce them late june early july, they are also starting the sedan next month too.

 

Ok and also, Showcase Chevrolet doesn't place orders on mondays, but they do on tuesdays, so I'm assuming that will be when my order is sent in. He said that GM won't accept it till thurday, so when would be the best time to ask him what the progress is on the order and whatnot?

 

Thursday was always the best day for me to get info.
