130mph is not even close to fast, I have only owned 2 vehicles that couldnt top 130 mph both were Jeeps lifted on mud tires with 4.88 gears lol

i'm not young and crazy enough to try and top my car out anymore .. but i'm sure it would hit 160mph fastest i've gone is 220km/h before i backed out of it in fear of a cop coming over the hill towards me lol

I dont know how to break this to you but there is no way this car set that lap record on nurburgring without having handling, braking and a decent top end speed, this car is classed as a performance car and there is tons of gm documentation that claim 160+mph top speeds for the turbo ss, there is no liability for a car having or not having a speed governor on it the liability is on the end user to follow the rules of the road and follow the speed limits lol oh and speed limitations have always been one of the easiest things to override I personally witnessed a factory trained chrysler technician remove the limit on an old eagle talon/ mitsubishi eclipse turbo chrysler sets it to 210kmh and with out anything crazy thru the dealer diagnostic equipment he raised it to unlimited in about 10 seconds and my uncle has a cavalier z24 that has been factory un-governed cause he refused to buy it with a governor lol it only does 120 mph though....
i'm not saying its impossible to remove the governor. and i'm not doubting the car can go 160. but i'm sure theres a governer somewhere in the vehicle. and i highly doubt that the gm stage tune will remove it. just look how picky they are as it is.

oh and as far as ur cavalier z24 comment umm i went well above that in my 97. with a mustang beside me clocking my speed. i had hit just above 130, granted i was slightly modded, but on those cars an i/e/h isnt much.

i maxed mine out. just touched 160 on the speedo and i had to get out of it due to running out of road. my TC is all stock but with wind drag im not shure of the actual speed but the gauges said 160mph

I live about 1.5 hrs from the Salt Flats and I'll be out there doing some high speed runs as soon as I get my tune! Hopefully soon!!! $$ fail

Lol. I also have a dashdaq so I'll log the speed sensor from the ECU as well as speed from the GPS. I'll post as soon as I have results! It will be a month or so though

Im looking forward to hearing what you accomplish you will def have ideal conditions to see exactly where it will stop pulling, wish I could cross the border and get down there.... Keep us posted right place right time with good conditions you should have the bragging rights for highest top speed pretty easily I think!! Ill still do my best to match or beat it on the open road though thats just how I do things

Never taken the solstice to top speed it's making more power the my vw and I've taken that thing to 140 so I don't see a problem with the ss/tc making it to 160 lol is it safe probly not what's limiting our cars is power to go past 160 your gona need power apr stage 3 had gone 200mph granted yes it's a bigger turbo but I don't see why a bolt can't do the same. Basically what in saying in a nut shell you'll need more power to go faster lol.
