I need new brakes

Hi guys,

I need to change my brakes and I was wondering if there are any that you guys would recommend me ? I need new pads and rotors for both the front and the back. I use my car as a DD and don't use it on the track.

I've read a thread that recommend the Ferodo HP1000 but it's a thread from 2011 so maybe there's better one now ? Also, the OP wanted to have something that brakes within the best distance possible when it's not really my case, just want something that works fine.

Also, I don't want them to squeeeeeek, that's the most annoying thing ever haha.

Thank you !!

You should be able to get any rotors and ceramic pads for DD action.

I use Hawk PC and Hawk HPS for DD action. They are relatively quiet and low dust and feel okay.

So everyone agree with the above ?

I'm just looking for the best value for money brakes for my car, and don't want them to squeek.

Thanks again.

My preference is stock rotors front and rear, stock Ferodo pads on the front and Hawk HPS in the rear.

Stock stock and stock.
Seriously, you cannot beat the quality or braking power of the stock rotors and pads unless you go to race pads.
I know many like the Hawk HPS pads but trust me when I say they are a serious downgrade from Ferrodo pads.
I experienced that first hand when I saw my lap times deteriorate by a few seconds after switching from stock to HPS.
Here are the links to the cheapest place to buy everything online. I've bought these, they are guaranteed name brand OEM parts. Rotors made in Germany, pads made in Italy.

Stock rear pads suck ass, they wear quick and are dusty as hell.

Damn these are cheap !! I would be all over that if I lived in the US, but I live in Canada and I can't figure out how much it would cost to get them shipped to me.

I think I'll just buy them from my local garage. You guys think they sell the original stuff ?

But they are so beautiful!

Call it a ricer mod but that's what I want, stock pads in front Hawk in rear. $300 or so for four rotors.

Really?
Mine have 114k+ miles on them and dont dust up the wheels half as bad as the fronts. Maybe you should clean lube and properly adjust the rear brakes and ebrake

Rear brakes are hit or miss on our cars. Mine is a 2010, when it seems they finally got them right. I have minimal wear on the rear pads, even with track use. But I've seen some pretty rough pad and rotor wear on 08s and 09s.

My rear brakes + rotors have 121k miles on them and are just now needing replacement. I don't think you can get any better than stock without going to race brakes.

And how do I know this?

Because I asked the same damn question a week ago... :`)
