K&N Intake for SS/TC
Yes SC cortex.. after reading this whole thread again i realized its not right i'm gonna turn it tomorrow. It pulls way harder and longer for sure runs great just want to make it better
Has anybody had bucking/jerking issues with this intake? I have had it on for over 3 weeks now and just had an issue last night and this morning. It is when I'm in the lower RPMs in third and fourth gear, accelerating slowly...not sure if it is and intake thing or just some bad gas...when I flog it, everything is normal..still boosting at like 22 psi...

Which way is the filter positioned. And is the MAF in the right direction. The Arrow/ Alphabet should be going towards the turbo.
got a response from the ebay guy last night, supposedly k&N is only making 36 for the next batch and it will ship on sept 3rd... k&n wouldnt tell him whether or not his orders were going to get filled or not, so i dropped mine... going to get me an AEM after seeing fuel trim stuff said.

I have the metal strip at about 11 o'clock...isn't that where everyone decided is best? I think the MAF is correct...I put it in the same way it came out...but will double check this afternoon...
Yep...MAF is the correct way...

hmmm... maybe a sensor issue with stage 1?
The reason it could be fuel trims which is what all the "gurus" keep saying is that it takes a while for the fuel trim to go real wack and when it happens, you get driveability issues. Try this. Disconnect the battery, wait 10 mins or so and reconnect it. Or, disconnect the PCM by the fuse box and reconnect it. That will reset the fuel trims. See if the car still bucks or jerks. If it does, its not the intake. If it doesnt and then 3 weeks later it starts doing it again, rotate the filter to 12:30 position and reset the PCM again.

I personally believe anything in the 11:30 to 12:30 range should be fine. I've seen more positive fuel trim numbers in the 11:00 direction and more negative numbers in the 12:30 position. As long as the bulge is upwards.
I had it the reverse when I first got it because I wanted the K&N logo on the filter right side up and I saw -11.0 for ltfts but when getting on the gas I saw +13.0 so it bounced around like crazy. Now I think because the filter is more exposed to moving air (air coming through the the slit between the bumper and hood), the air being pulled in is less stagnant. I have a feeling at idle it was pulling in alot of hot air since its was mostly behind the headlight in a ventless cove and then when you give it some gas, it pulled in the cool air which was coming from the slit between the bumper and hood.
Hey, did you try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it to reset everything? Did your problem still exist immediately after?

My dual guage pod from ZZP came in today by way of UPS. My Aeroforce Interceptor will be here this afternoon through USPS. I'll finally be able to see where I'm at with my fuel trims.

Mine is the exact opposite of this, 45 pages of reading and I'm still stumped. I'll be tuned for this intake in two weeks, is there any reason to adjust the filter when I'll be getting tuned for it?? From the sounds of things mine is the exact opposite of this, as mine has the K&N logo completely parallel to the ground, not upside down like yours. I'm not sure what my numbers are looking like, but the only problem I have is the intake is extremely loud upon start up for a few minutes till the car idles down. Should I be adjusting my filter anyway??
I really hope you guys aren't depending on figuring out if your tune is ok by watching an interceptor. You can't tell unless you data log. I have an interceptor, and it's good for many things. STFT/LTFT is not one of them.
