Yeah, the sound lasts a bit longer than the stock bpv. I think it's due to the smaller opening compared to the stock( the stock valve actually has no opening, just the rubber valve). It makes sense to me anyways. I bought one to see if it would help with the flutter I was hearing under vacuum. It seems like it has. I just like to buy toys for the car.

Nothing bad in liking the sound it make imo, im 31 and it has nothing to do with you being an old fart.
I have almost more fun watching you arguing on internet in threads than hearing the wooshhh sound.

Sounds good! BPV is way louder after full boost, kinda reminds me of a Tial BOV sound. Also, under normal driving I like the exaggerated sigh of relief sound when you just shift normally.

Just installed my K&N I bought from JDP Motorsport. Great vendor btw! I LOVE the sound. I can't believe how loud the turbo is now. It's awesome!

I was a bit surprised with my LTFT's though. They went from +2 to +10. Does that seem excessive? I thought it would be +4 or 5 with the K&N. I'm not too worried about it since I plan on retuning very soon, but is it something I should be worried about?

There's a way you can "tune" the intake by rotating the cone filter. It's not round but more of an oval shape. If you rotate it so the metal piece that holds the filter material together faces 12:30, it should help some.

Nothing beats a good custome fine tuning, though

It's normal for your LTFT to change, but ideally once it settles it shouldn't fluctuate much, and your STFT should also not fluctuate much, especially under heavy loads. i.e. if your LTFT stays around 10 and you do a 3rd gear pull and your STFT stays at 0, then you are fine (assuming no knock, etc.).

Naturally the best gains will be had for a tune, but to address the question "Is it safe to drive with an intake and no tune?", the answer in the above scenario is yes.

Boy does it ever the Forge BPV releases the air soooooo slowly I wish there was a spring in between the one that comes in the valve and the stiffer one which causes surge.

As for the K&N Intake it sounds I love it

Please elaborate if you would

Update: So this afternoon I hooked up my dashdaq again and now my LTFT's are at +13. STFT's seem to be fluctuating a little (between -5 and +5 approx). I also checked for knock. I am getting some knock under hard acceleration. I'll try to post my datalog file if someone wants to take a look I would really appreciate it. Should I be worried with my LTFT's this far out and getting some knock??? I am already kind of worried.

Ordered mine this morning and am feeling like a kid with his first Civic and AEM intake on the way. Can't wait.

I can't wait to see what it does to the ST/LT fuel trims. I'm such a car geek.

When I want to "show" someone my intake. I wait to do a cold start for them just so they can hear how obnoxious it is. If you parked next to a wall or SUV or something on the passenger side it makes it sooooo loud. Its honestly never gotten old.

Does anyone have any hood clearance issues? With the filter at 12:30 it sits pretty high. I dont think its actually touching the hood but its damn close.
