I've started my car in -35 before without problems. Last winter was brutal in Calgary but the Balt had no real issue starting. I mean it takes some time to heat up and I check and replace oil more frequently but I started her when I'm sure it was -40 or so and she started no prob. As much as this car hates cold weather shes a good drive once shes warm.

You are right.
So -35.00° Celsius = -31.00° Fahrenheit

I would think with the right tire package these car's should be tanks in the snow ..... espescially with LSD , trac and stability . Too bad there isn't a winter bumper and raised intercooler for winter lol.... the front lip must be a snow plow and one ice chunk falling off an 18 wheeler spells doom for lip and intercooler combined 8(.

I don't want to buy anybodys car who cold starts it at -35* Celsius...

It's not a matter of not starting, it's the fact the oil doesn't flow to protect the internals.

What about an oil pan heater ? This on adhears to the bottom of the pan and looks like it might be worth a shot . Your oil must be sludge when it's that cold lol.

this. Last time I was in Calgary and it was cold I could not shut down my Caterpillar in the 5 ton for 48 hours, the fuel was gelling in the tank.

Your fFuel trims messed up? Did you play with HPT on your car? If so, so sad too bad.

Just get a block heater. its not an insurmountable task and its what folks do in the Prairies afaik. Stop whining and blaming the car.

What about using 0w-30 mobile 1 or amsoil? It should flow much better at those temperatures.

iirc, using the wrong grade oil is grounds for voiding warranty if anything should go wrong.

I have thought about it though;
My brother's '09 SRT4 uses Mobile 0W30 ~ really tough to find, but they probably use it for just that reason ~ because his car didn't come with a block heater either.
