LNF. Dp and exhaust install

Located in Riverside Ca,
I need to install a 3inch downpipe and exhaust on my LNF and currently don't have the tools to do it myself .
I was quoted 160 to insatll both by a muffler shop is it a good deal?
Thanks

Spend the 160$ on tools, and you get to keep the tools too.

If its all bolt ons then i think it's too much. Just ask around and tell them that another shop had quoted you cheaper. Now if u have to weld on the downpipe to the cat back or weld the muffler...... then it might be a alright price.

What brand dp and catback you have? And it should be all bolts 8 in total if i remember correctly and some gaskets nothing hard to do and well you would need to cut your exhaust to remove it tho

Ohh perfect i have the same thing well only difference is the dp i have catted. So yeah just cut your original exhaust so you can take it off(it will be from somewhere near the rear wheels where you want to cut it where it curves up on the torsion bar).
Take the 4 bolts from the DP and the 2 from the dp to catback, take off the old exhaust, install new one and your set pretty straight forward save those 160 for something else for the car you will need a 15mm sockets, extensions and a few other non expensive tools ohh and O2 sensors maybe the hardest to take off but some wd40 should help

Just use an impact on the exhaust bolts or else you're gonna break a few wrenches and take half a day installing it

I used like 3' of extensions to get the downpipe off of the turbo. No need to mess around trying to apply pressure way up against the firewall and engine.

Everything came off real easy but that's probably the car had the equivalent to 11,000mi on it and was never Winter driven.

spray all the bolts and o2 sensor with penetrating oil or wd40 a few times while still hot a couple days before you mess with it, should loosen everything up.
focus on getting the pipes out. Remove the o2 sensor with the pipe out of the car.

Quit using **** tools and this won't happen. I've had a 4ft cheater bar with 180+lbs on rusted bolts never broke a socket or wrench.

Anti seize anti seize Anti seize, I don't put any bolt or nut back on my car without antiseize. Saves u a lot of headaches for future removal. My dp nuts are on there for 7 years already and I never have an issue removing them. Cause I always put on fresh anti seize when I take me off . That goes for every nut and bolt

Op I agree spend the money on tools, probably 100 bucks worth of tools, since u have to cut stock exhaust apparently otherwise it would be less than 50. All there is is 7 nuts to take off and the rest of the exhaust is hanging on hangers basically. The new exhaust will be a few clamps and those 7 nuts and put back on hangers and ur done
