The extra quart is for the separate oil cooler which the TC does not have.

I've found it to be slightly below 6.5 quarts for the LSJ.

Pretty much your oil fill should be as follows:

L61/LAP/LE5: 5 Quarts Conventional/Synth 5w-30
LNF: 5 Quarts Synthetic 5w30
LSJ: ~6.5 Quarts Synthetic 5w30

Of course, you can use 0w30 or 10w30 without issues.

My lsj takes 7 quarts since the first oil change. I have an 04 redline.Ii think it is odd for the lnf not to have an oil cooler since it is turboed.

although with 10w30, you need to let the oil heat up more before beating on it...and if you dont have an oil pressure gauge....that actually does take a lil bit

Our turbo is water cooled. It's not cooled by oil so that should not play a factor in why it doesn't have one.

The LNF has an oil cooler & heater, look at the laminated assembly below the oil filter cap off to the right a bit. It's a coolant over oil heat exchanger.

The turbo may be water cooled.. but the turbo shaft still needs oil. So techincally its water AND oil cooled.

As Iam Broke said, there's the sandwich oil to water cooler bolted to the side of the oil filter housing.

^^^this. For some reason, the dipstick doesn't read at all w/ 5 quarts in, but it'll read full after I put an extra half of a quart in.

mine was 5.5 as well and the computers at Oriellys said 6qts....im sure it all depends on if u change the filter everytime and if you are draining the oil when it is hot or cold and if you like the level to be in the middle of the dip stick or near the full mark

I have heard that synthetic oil expands more than dino oil. So 5 quarts at 200+ degrees is more like 5.25-5.5
