losing power..any ideas
The car is running OK minus this small issue. I have the Trifecta tune uploaded and while data logging we discovered the car was losing power. Its set up for the selectable tune and with the tune selected it spikes at 22 psi and then drops to 19 and holds on for dear life. Ive thought and thought and thought about what the issue might be and tried everything I can think of the fix it and have come up short each time so I'm wondering what info you guys may have. So here we go in order.
Issue 1: Vince says it seems my AFR's are going crazy, he says might be an issue with the MAF relocate but he wasn't 100% so told me to check it out and then data log again when it's fixed because he has no fixes right now.
Issue 2: Vince also said my timing was off I'm guessing its the same thing as my relocate causing the same problems but I'm not sure again.
Here are the fixes I've made attempts to complete.
Fix 1: I have a Hahn IC piping kit so it's all 2.5 inches all around so I got the relocate kit and welded the MAF Adapter on the front of the pipe between the pipe and the fans when I installed the MAF I made double sure the arrow was going the right way. So I heard that if the MAF is dirty it can cause problems and cause you to lose power and even mpg, so I got a can of MAF cleaner from the auto parts store and removed it and sprayed it clean allowed it about 2 hours to dry reinstalled it and tested the car again with the same results.
Fix 2: So I am also running a HKS SSQ BOV I have a TTR block off plate on the old BPV and it still has the plunger inside to ensure I have no leaks. Now a little history I happen to be talking to a tech who works on big blocks and turbo cars, I was having some non-related work done and just happen to run the question by him about turbo sputter. He told me to adjust the BOV and it might clear it up some, so I did and it seemed to work slightly. Now while we were data logging the IC pipe on the turbo inlet blew off so I stopped at a auto parts store and grabbed some worm drives and they seem to hold a bit better than the Hahn clamps I paid extra for and yes even under high boost. So again today I adjusted the BOV and went back out and tried the car again with the same results. So now I am at wits end and don't know what to do.
I have a thought that maybe I guess running the BOV on my car with the tune isn't a good idea but there are other guys running the same parts with no issues but Vince did say he's seen maybe 1 or 2 other cars with the same problem and he hasn't yet figured it out. If anyone has any Ideas I'm open to them all. Thanks for reading.

It sounds like you need to start with the basics, like a boost leak test, then start eliminating parts if there is not a boost leak. The MAF mount was not designed to see boost, so you could have a leak around the MAF. You've gotten to the point where slowly removing aftermarket parts and returning to OEM is going to take tuning adjustments. If the boost leak test is good, I'd start with putting the OEM coldside back in and put the MAF back in the OEM position, re-tune, and see if that works. If that doesn't work, I'd then go back to the OEM BPV setup and see what happens. If you slowly work your way back to stock, you might be able to narrow down to which part is the failure.
I know that someone on here had a similar issue to this and it turned out to be a bad BOV, but I can't remember who it was.

im getting to that point also...did you run a BOV as well? i think i just maybe losing power from my BOV because of the block off plate
i have a kid who wants my bov so im just gonna trade hot pipes and go back to my bpv and hopefully fix all my problems including my turbo flutter

I ran the zzp maf relocate kit for a few months, ran flawlessly until I put my meth kit in(meth was spraying on the maf causing crazy readings).
I would do like you said and swap your pipes, You could also ask another member to borrow their MAF for a couple pulls and see if you just have a bad maf.
For my relocate there was ALOT of tuning to get it running correctly. I use the BYT hp/trifecta combo, vince is a great guy but you might want to get a proper HP or trifecta/HP tune from someone and see if with enough logging they can tune it out. Im suspecting the tune over the other things simply because I was having the same problems until we sorted it all out.

The MAF relocate is QUITE a bit off the normal MAF tables, like 20-25% on most cars Ive seen. That does require quite a bit of tuning!
BUT, not running the normal amount of timing leads me right to a boost leak after seeing a couple of these recently. Check the IC for crack and check your MAF is sealing properly in the relocate pipe!!!
