cons.... cobalt enthusiast will think you have a LSJ, and the other other downside I can think of is that if you run into a plastic garbage bag it could ge stuck on your radiator or intercooler, (but it could happen with the grill.

Only TC's I see with the lower grill removed is those with HAHN labeled intercoolers...I question if it helps any air flow or not...more than likely not, but those plastic diamonds might restrict 1% of air flow. As far as cons go yeh...as mentioned above it could damage the fins road garbage hits it just right.

Funny story about that... I've always liked the look of a big intercooler filling the front grille opening of a car and I wanted to take my cover off right after I got it. 2 or 3 days after I bought the car I was on the freeway here 2-3 cars behind a big truck (distance wise, there were no other cars between me and the truck) and it kicked up a small rock but at 80MPH it was big enough to dent the paint on my brand new car. I couldn't swerve because there were cars on either side so I just kept going straight...it bounced up and looked like it went straight into the front of my car but I didn't hear any clunk or noise so I thought it must have gone under the car and I forgot about it..

I got home later that night and was washing the car, got to the grille...the rock was wedged into one of the diamonds on the lower grille...I mean like WEDGED in there, it took 5 mins to pry the ****** out. Had my grille been removed it would have went STRAIGHT into my intercooler and probably done some decent damage to the fins if not poked a hole right thru it.

Long story short, I no longer feel the need to remove the lower grille, lol.

This question was just asked not too long ago.

I like the way it looks...but it's there to protect.
