I wanted to get the armrest for my car 09 ss and I went on crateenginedepot and found it but it says for automatic transmissions only I was just wonder why is that? And is it possible to put it in wit manual?
It doesn't really "fit" in between the seats when you flip it up, which you have to do everytime you pull up on the parking brake. It gets in the way of your elbow, when shifting, which is why it says it's only for automatics. Worst piece of trash I ever installed on my car. Came off the very next day.

No doubt the best thing I installed on my car IMO. Been on since a week after I got the car and its staying for sure.
If you think about it people driving automatics generally prefer to use the park function rather than the Ebrake. The armrest does interfere, if only slightly, with the operation of the Ebrake handle, but only in the down position. Raise it and there is no interference at all. UNLESS you're a caveman! GM was probably trying to cover all the safety bases to cover the people that bought the thing only to have to buy it back from the clueless people who bought it and complained about having to raise it to apply the Ebrake. If a car maker was allowed to produce a car that anybody with common sense could operate the price of cars would go down by a bunch. Doctors and lawyers are some very intelligent people, I think, but have a very hard time figuring out how to change a flat tire. That's why BMW was the first with run flats.
