Muffler Delete
So I'm thinking about doing my muffler delete but wanted a way to put the muffler back on if I ever needed to. So what I thought about doing is putting a v band clamp on the muffler side and then the car pipe side and then another clamp on the new straight pipe so all I'd have to do is undo a clamp and put the muffler piece back on. If that makes any sense to you guys lol.
I was wondering if you guys would know where to get a tip that looks good on our cars and were to get exhaust piping long enough

No offense but I'm with stevo- why would you want a loud exhaust on a 4 cylinder car that would make you not be able to hear anything inside the car. A big cammed v-8 okay, but just a loud 4 cylinder? Won't gain much on performance either. Just curious.
It's all personal preference. Some people do stuff that others don't like but in the end the only thing that matters is what the owner prefers. And why wouldn't you want a deeper exhaust. I'm not gonna sell my car and get a v8 just to have a deep exhaust to meet the satisfaction and requirements of others
Here's my LNF 3 inch straight piped from the turbo back! No resonators, mufflers, or cats! Catless down pipe! 3 inch Hahn down pipe and Hahn race exhaust!

When you do it have yourself or someone hold the pipe in a good spot a bit away from the lip and a bit farther out from the lip as well to prevent melting
Just a straight pipe although you might have to fab up some hangers since they are mounted like right before the muffler....

Nice burbles, annoying as hell for freeway driving @ 60 MPH or above.
Pick your poison!
I put my muffler back on (cats/ res were never removed) - best decision ever. Shouldn't ever have fcked around with something that wasn't broken to begin with, IMO.

Leighb17,
I'll give you the advice that nobody gave to me, and i didn't find it in the forum.
The stock muffler is not restrictive at all, shine a light in it and you'll see it is a completely pass through shot. The flow is completely open, (by the way, same thing with the resonator).
Due to my lack of knowledge of this fact, i thought it would make a difference and cut it off. Without the muffler the car is BARELY any louder; most people that would ride in the car before and after wouldn't notice the difference unless i mention it.
If you want a louder exhaust, get a catless down pipe (i did it for performance, but love the slight increase sound level, and the exhaust "gurgle" on shifts / engine break) yes, you can call me juvenile if you wish i think it sounds awesome.
Moral of the story: Don't cut the muffler, the sound is barely any louder, and you'll just ruin your factory exhaust / reliability / etc. Also the sound is of lesser quality, higher in the frequency band; you know who would have thought that the factory muffler was actually DESIGNED to make it sound good.
