Never Sell Your Cobalt SS Turbo!!!

DO NOT SELL YOUR COBALT SS TURBO.......ever!!

Now that ive got your attention ive got something that i think EVERYONE on this forum should consider........Why sell your Cobalt SS Turbo....ever..

Ok I get it.......if you fall on Financial hard time or you just have gotten over your head with payments and you cant afford you Cobalt SS Turbo then YES this makes perfect sense but if you TRULY TRULY TRULY dont have to sell yours the, why would you?

This is what baffles me about not just guys on this forum but ALOT of car guys from all sorts of different forum. They spend thousands on thousands of dollars on upgrading there cars just the way they want then and then..........THEY SELL THE ******* THING! i had a few friends in high school who did this and the money that they lost with the depreciation and modifications is outstanding.........TRULY MIND BOGGLING!!!!

Ok.......so lets say you just want a different car all together..........I thought this once......I wanted a 2010 MazdaSpeed 3. Still do to tell u the truth......but once I found out how much money I could only get for a trade in($8000 CND) I laughed my ******* head off and said NO ******* WAY!!!

My Cobalt SS Turbo is my pride and joy and to sell it for $8000.00 is like giving it away for free. I still plan on getting a MazdaSpeed 3 but id rather put it off for 1-2 years and have both then sell an OUTSTANDING GM MACHINE for 8 Grand!!!!

I rarely if ever see another Cobalt SS Turbo on the road so that right there says ALOT about the rarity of these cars. Ive learned my lesson from six years ago......sadly I made this mistake with another car I loved.......

My 1998 Eagle Talon TSI AWD.........I missed it! I needed a truck at the time and sold my baby for $4000.00.......only $4000, I know!!! At the time it didnt seem to matter, I missed it but didnt think id miss it that much. Now six years later i wish i had never sold it. The $4000 I got from it was nice at the time but i could have got an extra load for more and kept my car. I wish I would have inconvenienced myself by $4000 back in the day.....but I didnt.........so I wont let that happen again.

My 2008 Cobalt SS Turbo is my new pride and joy........I am currently setting it up both performance and looks just the was I like it. Since I plan on owing it forever this makes perfect sense since its just for me and its not a waste of money since IM GONNA OWN IT FOREVER HAHAHAHA

So chew on this..........when you sell your Cobalt SS Turbo AND.........take that big depreciation hit. Who wins...........THE GUY WHO BOUGHT YOUR OLD COBALT SS TURBO thats who!!!!!

Ok I hear you.I have been thinking the same thing, about getting rid of it that is.As I see gas prices haeding up towards 4-5 dollars a gallon(US)I think the value of a 12 second car capable of 30mpg won't be all that bad.

How ironic would it be if your car got stolen?
That would blow.

I don't wish that on anyone.

SS/TC isn't rare. Super easy to find a load of them FS, cheap. (Besides, the yellow Sedan, still not the car it's self, just the color) None of the recent production 4cyl's are rare..

I try to ignore Hydro's threads, but I find myself drawn in just to see how stupid the threads will be.

I'll probably give the Cobalt to my wife when it's paid off in 2 more years. This is the one I'm never getting rid of:

Really??

What do you consider rare then? You are aware that there will be only 5-6 thousand TOTAL produced..that's *rare* in my book. How many Neon SRTs were produced? They are fairly scarce, but not as rare as Cobalt T/Cs.
I'm in So Cal and I've only seen ONE and that was about 3 years ago!

I had not idea there were only that many made. They must all be here because I see them all the time here in WV. There are only around 7 thousand subaru svx's left in the us (out of the 14 thousand that were imported) and I know it is rare. There are 21 ball joints left in the world for it.

Yeah well, when you get into a new car. You dont sell it within 5 years. Unless you have money to burn. Cobalt or not. (cobalt being the extreme of this situation)

C'mon... A cheap mass produced Neon or Cobalt is not rare...Something rare..the Enzo
Are you saying the 1,175 ACR Srt-4's and the 200 Commemorative Srt-4's are "rare"?

I'm sure many more SCs were made. I have seen several as opposed to the TC, but they aren't exactly abundant either.

It's the guys saying they aren't rare that will be saying 10-15 years later wish I would have kept it.

Happened with my dad and his 66 GTO these cars now sell for upwards of $30-40k

My 69 Chevelle SS sold for $8800 in 93' saw it a few years ago for sale for $30k

My Monte SS is now starting to show value that I thought I'd never see

How about the Grand Nationals and GNX's... how many were produced? and where can you find a nice one under $8k for a GN or T-Type? or $30k for a GNX

Before you say the Cobalt SS is nothing like those cars you're right, it's just as quick or quicker and out handles all of them.

To top this off I've seen an add for a 67 Vette w/427 in a 1972 paper for $3500....value today, no less than $60K

Many guys dirt tracked Chevelles in the 70's and Monte's in the 90's because they were cheep, now with a limited supply, the cost keeps going up.

Hell when I bought my first 69 Chevelle (non SS) in 1988 I paid $2200. Now a non running chevelle "shell" will cost $4k

As far as selling it, that's everyone's choice. For me this was to be my DD that I was going to sell before I hit 100k but now the plans have changed. I'm actively looking for a truck to be the DD, so the Cobalt can become another sunny day/weekend car.

I'm done with the 60's cars and think the cost is way out of hand for what you get. For me the Cobalt is more fun to drive than my 69 SS was and uses far less gas. So I can see others making the switch too. Especially when they can pick up a used Cobalt SS/TC fairly cheap in comparison
