Never Sell Your Cobalt SS Turbo!!!
some of you are getting side tracked...
this was never about theoretical future worth...
just about these cars legitimately being rare.
few cars will ever be worth more (taking into account for inflation) than the day they were first bought - so if anyone here bought their car thinking it would really be worth something - they made a grave mistake...
but again, this isn't about worth... these cars were not made in huge numbers to begin with, and when you factor into this the staggering rate of attrition... I doubt there will be many left on oh, say twenty... if even ten years...
I don't plan on selling my car... just because...
plus I don't think GM will offer another car with the same or better power to weight ratio or how ever you choose to explain it any time soon... if ever.
Yes, but I would "guess" you got the desire to have that becuase of an "older" person (I could be wrong?) But there will be a % that dont fall right into the basic catagory as I described earlier, I agree.
also iirc, those are just the sprint offering with what came to be a fairly common Dodge engine - one that could even be had in the mini-van of it's day...

The future will be the only way to know for sure.
you are correct sir, my dad influenced me a lot and we built the car together for over 4 years
I neglected to reply to this;
if the aftermarket is geared towards the LNF, and not specifically the CSS/TC, then we should come out (hopefully) ok.
The LNF debued in 2007 in the Solsice GXP, to be followed by the Sky Redline, then the HHR SS... and now a retuned version of it is in the buick (?)CSX...
this engine is still being produce... the story isn't over yet.
has anyone stopped to reaslize that the LNF has already been produced for more years than the LSJ?
LSJ: 2004-2007 (four model years)
LNF/LHU: 2007-date (five years & counting)

The title of the thread is *NEVER SELL YOUR SS TC*...
I don't think I ever will. This car will satisitfy the most demanding performance requirements...which is why I was attracted to the TC. To be honest, I didn't like the looks, but the more I read up on the car, the more I was drawn to it. I liked the fact that it was a *poor man's* Vette. The fact GM made a considerable effort to sort it out and make it a serious track car, was enough to convince me...and I have never had an American car..ever. This car is unique and a true American Sports car...yes, in every respect. Built to rule the road..and it does.

I'd guess none (at least nothing in North America), because none were sold in a package that enthusiasts went for...
at least not to my knowledge...
I don't doubt that buyers of LNF or LNF variants will be looking to squeeze a little more out of them for many years to come...
IDK, I would think aftermarket will always be "limited". There really isn't too much support as is and with the TC being as rare as you speak, and with all that will be destroyed they would be better time to profit options for company's. That's why DSM's and Honda's are so popular..Abundant, Cheap, that equals people buying them and than in turn equals Company's spending R&D to make parts because they know they will sell. Or maybe I'm wrong. I just don't see many high powered Cobalt's here. (not talking 350-400whp) I haven't checked in to it but has ZZP ran in the 10's yet or any member that's not a drag car? (Not trying to go off topic, it just sorta tied in.
)
The cobalt TC is rare where I live, that is for sure. AFAIK there is about 5 in my city of 250,000 people (ive only seen 3 others, just highballing lol)
I see a TC once a month if I drive around the city, im the only one in the whole north end of my city ive seen in 2 years...
It is fairly rare I Would say... ??? But I guess not

Well if anyone with an SS/TC sedan manages to hang onto theirs for another 10-12 years or so, they'll probably stop depreciating and might appreciate a little bit due to the rarity. Just look at any of the late 80's/early 90's turbo GMs -- Regals, GNs, Typhoons/Syclones -- hard to find a nice one under $10k.

I guess it's all opinion..I just don't see a car you can find all over the internet FS (Very cheap), So many sold for thousands under MSRP, and you can still go to a dealer and buy new rare. IMO, being limited is a bad thing, it messes with aftermarket support, etc. Just because they made less than 10K TC doesn't mean it's going to be worth anything anyways. Company's will keep coming out with better FI 4cyls. It's not like the old turbo K cars, turbo Daytona's, Turbo Omni GLH, Turbo Probes, Turbo Colts, Turbo Celica, VR4's, etc are worth crazy money.
