Yep... at this point, who knows.

I was told late next week, but to be honest, I am not expecting it to come in next week either

That is what my dealer keeps telling me. They have no way of tracking the car after it is sold. I can't get my head around that. Well I found out that some cars are showing up in Minnesota but my car should be coming soon. That is what my dealer told me today.

Ok everyone I have an update!!! Looks like we are in the same 300 boat. Basically approximately 300 cobalts started to ship when they found out about the stupid hose clamp being the wrong size. They were immediately turned around and sent back to the factory citing QA problems (GM felt this would be a cheaper alternative than having the dealerships do it). Once they got back to the factory they had to change all the clamps...when they were all finished they released them for 'final' inspection (this is why some of your cars are showing 'in transit' status). Basically they are still at the plant awaiting final inspection but have been released from QA. As the final inspections are done they are loaded onto a train. GM will not ship your car until the railcar is full (There is some conflicting reports here...but I believe they will not ship them until all 300 clear). Mine cleared final inspection today and is waiting for the railcar to fill. I have a feeling many of you are in the same boat. The good news is that is only takes 4-7 days to fill the car. It then takes 7-10 days in transit. Rissa in a way I think your dealer is right...they will probably be here the middle of the month. But I would be hesitant to believe that it is actually moving yet. Right now the issue is they can't give anyone an idea about delivery dates because no one will know until the railcar is filled and the train leaves. At that point your car will be declared 'hot' and the status code will change. Then the dealer will be able to monitor the progress of the train. I am hanging in there...almost gave up hope but I think it will be here in two weeks.

Why do all the cars have to stay there till the train is full? Who told you this? GM or the factory? I think GM should be giving us some compensation for this time we have lost by not have are car here. Most of us have paid for the damn thing.

DBC told this to my dealer. Basically the car won't ship until the rail car is full. Now I don't know if they ship out 1 rail car at a time or 1 complete train of rail cars (probably not). Unfortunately with rising shipping prices they won't ship anything less than a full car. Still it only takes 4-7 days to fill a rail car. That means there will be another shipment leaving the plant Monday-Wednesday of next week. As soon as the rail car with my car leaves I will post. At that point you are looking at 7-10 days for delivery...also keep in mind that some dealerships off-load their vehicles at yards on their end and some will wait until they have a full truck before they bring it to the lot. My dealer is telling me that they will send someone to the yard to pick it up. I am hoping that they will let me pick it up from the yard. Regardless I am thinking the next shipment will arrive at final destinations on 6/20

Exactly, Paid for and Insuring. Don't forget, some of us will loose over a month of our onstar and XM since mine were both activated the day I signed the paperwork (3 weeks ago now).

I have asked the dealer to find a way to extend both of those and compensate me with something for not having the car for 4+ weeks. NO RESPONSE.

I am done with them. I will pick up the car, I will not sign any paperwork saying they showed me this or that, they can F*ck themselves. they had their change to be customer orientated and blew it by never responding to any of my inquiries or questions.

I will grade them a F. Again, i realize it's not their fault, but the manner in which they have conducted themselves since taking my cash is ridiculous.

Yeah but who's to say my car is gonna be on one of those trains? Is there anyway I can find out if my car has been inspected and ready yet? Or how many of the 300 are done? I don't want to have to wait till the end of the month...

I know that my dealer was able to tell me that my car was on the train and also were the train was at that time.

I had to wait a month and that was killing me, so I bet some of you that have been waiting longer then that are ready to explode.
I know I would be.

You just asked your dealer and they found out? All I wann aknow is if mine's still waiting to be inspected or if it's actually on its way.

Bingo, we have bingo

It's also the lack of knowledge by dealers who don't know how to find out the status of the car. When I guy like me, comes to a message board, and another member finds out more about the car status than my dealer and then tells me what the dealer should do. When I give them the info, they find out that day, go figure.

THAT pisses me off. And of course the lies about the car being due anyday for 3 weeks. That goes back to knowing how to find out the car status, but geez..

Ok.. rant mode off for now

Rissa...your dealer has the ability through DBC to find out exactly what train your car is on and when it will be delivered. Once it is on the train the dealer is notified (they don't even have to call at that point anymore). The fact that your dealer can not give you an exact date or 'track' the train tells me that it isn't on a train yet and that it got held up for final inspection. My dealer isn't the only one to tell me this. I was talking to another dealer that said the same thing...once it is on a train they can track the train. My dealer has an inventory control person (all dealers have their own). You need to find out who this person is and how long they have been doing their job. Basically this person is your insight to the DBC. Some inventory people are better connected than others. You can certainly go to the GM of the dealership...but all that they will do is talk to their inventory person. Some dealerships even have more than one (one for fleet, general stock, etc...) so make sure you have the right person.

Guys also keep in mind that they probably segregate rail cars based on geographic location...so certain rail cars may leave before others...some may even have mixed cars on them which could cause a delay....hence the 4-7 days to fill....

Oh...also your dealer gets an inventory update every Tuesday to let them know what will be coming in as well. Talk to the inventory person on Monday...have them call the DBC....Keep in mind they may not get their update until Tuesday...the update usually comes in the afternoon...so when you call on Tuesday do it after 1pm....

I am calling monday to find out where it is, they said that it left the train station in Chicago...he talked to the girl who does the inventory, but I'm still calling this coming week to double check. I haven't even inquired about them tracking the car or anything, so it might be on a train since they haven't had the need to track it for me since I haven't asked. But I will ask monday, thank you for the info.

I called about the one in SD, but unfortunately there were 3 other people trying to get it, and there was no guarantee it would be mine, and then luckily the guy from the HB dealer called and said the black one he was getting in was still up for grabs...so i got it.

Hey do you guys know if I find a car at another dealer and have it delivered in will they still give me the car at the same price as long as it still has all the same options as my car dues when I ordered it? Dues my vin # hold me back from getting the same deals as I got on my first order? Deals meaning promotions and GM discount. I found 5 cars here in MN
