Official 2008 SS/TC shipping news
well you see i called two dealers in utah bout 30 mins ago and they said they had them in stock at the dealer the other dealers like the one in texas i didn't call but if you really want to find one i guess you should look around.
my salesman called me this morning to inform me the vehicle is in shipping. let me mention that he has been telling me this since may 1st so i take it with a grain of salt. i gave the dealer an ultimatum that if the car is not here by the end of the week i'm buying a car elsewhere. i have been in talks with subaru over a loaded wrx but i may upgrade to a legacy gt limited. so any of you out there in the NYC area there might be an ultra silver w/ lsd available!
wow that many on the west coast... figures east coast would have alot more first
man im still waiting for my sport red to come in im bout to go buy an Evo or a subi instead. this **** is takin too long. i had this deal worked out for almost a month now.. im gettin fed up really
i am feeling VERY optimistic...
ppl in thw WEST COAST are having them in stock at there dealerships so that has to be a sign that ALOT of dealers on the EAST COAST have them or will shortly have ALL of them on their lots so be patient
I went to a different dealership today... not the one i ordered my black one from... and I actually seen the dates with my own eyes and they have a Red one that says it will be in TODAY so I am expecting it by atleast Fri or Sat....
Be patient bro... the strikes/vin/and clamp problems are over
What dealer in Utah has them mine was only dealer in the area that was even expecting any must be north of here or south ?
ive spoke to 3 dealers... 1 the one i actually have the car for me just waiting for it to finally come.. 2 some one in delaware has one in transit as we speak. and one in lima ohio 20 miles from my hometown has one on the truck as we speak.. soo i gotta wait for some calls
not to sure some weird name and chevrolet added to it and it was in utah and i have the phone number 1-888-744-842 guy name is robert said it was a rally yellow cobalt ss turbo going for $24,535 and they have it at the dealership
Wow thanks hope that means mine will be here soon thought would take longer to get out this way by rail car !!
Ok, so here is the good news boys. They finally released the batch hold and they are shipping out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is the real issue with them, one of the pressure lines that goes to the turbo had the wrong clamp put on, it was too large, they replaced this clamp with a smaller one, the reason they were not released is because it was cheaper to fix in house then at the dealers. It couldn't hold the pressure so it would blow by and cause a whistle in the cabin. This leak from the pressure line to the recirculating valve i believe, nothing that could damage the turbo or car. Mine had this issue and it already got fixed so you guys don't need to worry it is all done and over with. HOPE THIS MAKES YOU HAPPY, WATCH FOR YOUR CAR TO GET SHIPPED, ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!!

The issue was a coolant leak. I called down and talked to someone in the know. They had to change a hose clamp on all of them and verify that all is good. Its a done deal. The car I ordered is 4200 as of today. Theres a bunch of them either at 4150 or going 4200 today.
since the train goes east toward NH then comes back I figure tuesday for Michigan if your car left today. I thought they were trucking them this way but I was wrong. their going rail
4200 is the shipped event code. Look at the first post in this forum.
A black one was delivered/sold here in Mich today and it appears to be the first one here.

If you find the right dealer you do not need to even give them any deposit, I asked the sales man if I needed to and he said no.
I am waiting on my Yellow SS to get here so it's really good news that they are shipping them out.

Trading in my Trailblazer for one and seeing as I turned 50 in February I deiced to have a mid-life crises and go Turbo.
I would have got a vette but they just do not enough room inside them for all my camping gear.
