Change your own oil? check the O Ring on the Oil Filter Cap, mine has torn before, and it leaked pretty good.

There is a bulliten for this and expect the dealer to have your car for at least 2 days. They will NOT have the parts in stock. I just had this done and now it's fine.

They order the parts first. Then it takes 2 hrs max.
Just had it done...got the parts the NEXT day and they had it done in 1/2 day.

Broke, was it you that was the first one to fix this and do a write-up?

I had my recall work done and it leaks again.

Mine's dry bone so far. It has to be done right..using special GM sealant (or equivalent).
BTW..this isn't a recall.

Fine. Tech bulletin, then. Mine was done at the dealership a year or so ago. First, they put dye in my oil to see where it was coming from and then did the work on the next oil change. Now it leaks again. I'd rather do it myself.

Term did it first I think, or Gimp, I forgetz.

I used Permatex Hi Temp RTV 2 years ago, no leaks since. There was no sealer on the original HPFP gasket or the Cam Cover on mine. (Pilot Run '08)

I’m sorry to hear about the oil residue you’re experiencing with your Cobalt, but I’m glad to see that you’re getting your vehicle to the dealership. Will you please keep us updated on your progress?

Thanks,
