I almost canceled mine today! Salesman called me up and said that it is due in any day now and thought it would be best to do all the paperwork today including payment to take advantage of the $2500 cash rebate. He originally agreed to sell me the car at invoice. When I ordered it, this dealer came in the lowest by $450. Now they tell me the base invoice price went up and delivery cost went up. I also ordered the upgraded radio which is now standard so there was a little offset. He tells me the new invoice price is $800+. When I ordered it, they didn't build in the advertising/financing amounts. The GM says that they should have been added in from the start but that is what made them $450 lower. I threatened to cancel the order and get my deposit back and call the newspaper, TV station and BBB as they were pulling a scam. I also said I would call the owner of the 13 dealerships bearing the name. The GM said that I could try but he was probably too busy to talk to me. I told him that he wouldn't be too busy to talk to the newspaper and the TV reporters. He finally backed down and agreed they made a mistake and would sell me the car at the originally quoted invoice.

I was out and about yesterday and figured just for the hell of it, decided to drive past my dealer. I saw two yellow Cobalts on the lot. First one I pulled up to was an LS. I drove around the lot to the second and saw it was an SS. No sticker on the window yet so it must have been dropped off after hours. I saw the configurable display and knew this was my car. I copied down the VIN so I could check when I got home. I'm hoping to have my ass in the seat this afternoon!

What the hell guys seems like all of you now have your car and even a few that ordered after me. The dealer called me on Sat. to tell me that the car will be here on May 18th, which to their own timeline makes no sense. They told me it was build Apr. 17th and then said it takes 12 days to get to the dealership after it's built. I think they need someone else ordering cars.

Getting close now I got an email telling me that it will for sure be in Monday. I think this weekend I might have to go to the train yard where the new cars are held, and if it's there snap a few pics.
Last time I took pics there, I had security after me. This was when the C5 vettes first came out and there was a whole truck loaded with them and it looked cool.

I'm really impressed! It has a couple of paint defects but......The thing was $21,870.00 O.T.D! What a great car! I don't see what some of the complaints are? The only complaint is a lack of storage space. I have a center arm rest to install so it will help. The seats are great! The $100,000 ZR-1 has terrible seats by comparison. The tank is small, but mileage is not bad. I'm driving the thing like a old lady! I installed the sill plates from GM and they look good, but not sure about the $50 for them! I have MSR 045 wheels in the boxes to install. I'm also going to powdercoat the calipers red. I bought vinyl stickers off ebay, but they appear to be to small! I will post pics when I get it done. Oh yeah....I have more complements on the black and red interior! I installed Simoniz Glasscoat paint sealant after a 2 hour claybar session. I'm really happy with my choice. I considered a WRX STi, but could not justify the money. What a great car!
