SC or TC

I went to my dealership today and threw a really good deal at me for a TC. Should I keep my wrecked 06 Vic red SC or get the 07 Vic red TC

Lets see, keep a wrecked SC, or get a new TC, not really a tough decision if you ask me, especially if they are looking to give a good deal. And the TC would have to be an 08, the 07's were still SC'ed.

Thats what I thought but since it was the first one they got I wasnt sure if its Bday was in late 07.

I think I am going to do the turbo. Even though my goal was to beat BoostKing with his new turbo balt. I am test driving it in the AM.

you def. wouldn't do that in a ss/sc. I am sure you saw but I did 371whp and 374wtq on "low" boost w/stock downpipe and exhaust. going back for a 450whp run very very soon.

You can't touch this...... lmao get the ss/tc so I can help you get to where you want!!

Because we all know the LSJ is a stronger motor, the blower is just what is holding it back!
The one thing the LSJ was designed around is the one thing holding it back? I wouldnt say the Eaton holds it back. With some bolts and a tune it can hit 12's... As far as being a 1/4 mile straight ahead car it does the job. The LNF with just a tune can be brought up to over 300wHp. Lets see you do that on the LSJ M62? You cant, most people need to completely rework the lsj over to turbo to get serious. Thats a very large undertaking that many would choose not to do. Its not like putting on an intake or something.

How many TC's will you see reverting to TVS set ups etc? None. The longer I drove a 4 cyle sc'd car, the more I uncovered the limitations. I would SC a v8, but I will never drive another 4 cyl sc. Turbo is much easier.

However all that aside, I like road courses and auto x and the heatsoak, brake fade, steering clunks, and ***** seats (non recaro) of the SC drove me nuts.

Coming from an ex SC'er.... buy the TC. You will get you're value back. Aside from a power to power comparison, it drives like a totally different car, shifts way better, and is far less of a pain in the arze to launch. It hooks much better out of the box. Oh yeah you get brembo's and better seats too. The sc and tc may have the same look and feel, but they are very different.

I can agree when I test drove it today everything was different about it. I did notice the lag in the turbo but once it was in it was better then the SC. I have been modding on my SC for 2 years now and Boostking buys a TC and smokes me off the lot.

I HATED the clutch in the TC because my SC clutch had that 200lb spring feel to it. Once you get used to the TC clutch launching is a breeze and you will love it. Took some time cause my sc clutch was so 'different'. I could never get a true predictable launch out of the thing and the ECU on my 06 faught me every way. The TC didnt feel that much faster because it was quieter etc than my modded SC. But when I had them both for the week end, it was clear who the champ was.

As far as boost lag. Go for a testdrive and try the NLS. You have to be WOT right at redline for it to work though. You will keep you're boost. Most times you dont need it to lay waste though...

Think of it this way. You'll be improving you're driving experience, as well as helping out GM. You will also be the minority on this site. Most TC owners get run off the site! I came back, I hope they do to. Once the LNF breaks in and there is more aftermarket I hope the conversations turn more constructive.
