Easy there, dude; I made the same type of comment a few weeks ago and was labeled a "hater".

In this case however, the car was legally parked.

I'm glad you're trying to scam the insurance company into totaling the car. Most people would be happy to have a reliable brand new car, yet you're bitching and complaining about it.

Go play in traffic like your car.

Excuse me? Well unlike you, those of us who own houses, don't live with mommy and daddy have other financial responsibilities other than gas and a cell phone bill and have not owned the car for more than a year, I want to the most for my money. Currently, the insurance company is bending me over in the long run with the horrible residual value in the long term and a dirty carfax.

You're the reason why this site is the way it is where many threads turn into a bitching argument. Go put on your xbox 360 headphones and curse at other little tykes that stay up past 11pm when they're supposed to be in bed.

If you have more to say then I'm glad to take this to a PM.

LOL! Pay all my own bills thank you very much. Including student loans, rent, cell phone and all of the other misc bills. Like I said, you guys are making assumptions on me when yet you know nothing about me.

that car is totaled. if the insurance screws you.. tell them you are going to sell it and that the depreciated value from the accident must also be taken into consideration. take it to get estimates from expensive shops and give the insurance companies the estimates. then fix it and sell it and they will cut you another check for the depreciated value. tell them your uncle is an attorney if they give you crap

Wow! Off topic much? I love internet arguments. It's like competing in the special olympics, even if you win .... while I'm sure we all get the point.

Now back on topic

Good luck with the insurance companies man. I think I cried a little when I saw how messed the car was. I agree with you that I wouldn't feel comfortable owning that car even if they did a good job on rebuilding it. If you get another one will it be the same or will you try for a different color?

I'm going to get the same color. I don't think the color was bad luck, if anything you should be able to see a bright red car better than a black one. I'm basically looking to get back inot another one. I spoke with some dealers today and got some good quotes. I just need to see what the heck is going on with the car on monday.

I sure hope that wasn't aimed at me. I've put over 60k miles on my car in less than 4 years.

He doesn't have a reliable brand new car anymore. He SHOULD be pissed. I would do everything in my power to get back my money. Hasn't even made a payment and some irresponsible bitch destroys it. Is he supposed to just be a pushover and keep paying $20k+ on a car that's now probably barely worth $10k?

Yeah, color doesn't make a difference when the driver's asleep.

^^ THANK YOU! This is ridiculous that I should have to keep paying payments on something that I'll be upside-down for 2 years at least. I have done nothing wrong in this scenario but become the victim of some bitch whose insurance company is trying to dick me over. I have rights and I will pursue them, come hell or high water.

Exclamation Update:

I am going to get the car repaired after all at Cavallo Auto Body. I had received the same messages from many different repair shops saying that the damage (while it looks bad) is mainly cosmetic (minus the radiator and an A/C line). They work on high end cars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW, etc. They are replacing the car with all OEM parts as I asked them to not give me any aftermarket Keystone junk.

I'm also filing for Diminished Value. I had a quote of around $4,500 from a gentleman that I emailed. I have yet to contact State Farm about this, but as a third party claim, I believe I can do this in PA. Anyone have any experience with this?

Diminished value is basically what a car is worth in the same exact condition post-accident vs pre-accident. If the car was worth 20k before the accident and it's now worth 15k BECAUSE of the accident then I will get payment of 5k for the losses I incurred.

No, they are actually re-using the front lip since it wasn't damaged at all. Any parts I decide to keep, I'll let you guys know.
